1368 DNB seats across 18 specialities: NBE Releases List Of Sponsored Seats for 2024 Admission Session
New Delhi- Through the notice, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has informed about the DNB-sponsored seats for the 2024 admission session. Additionally, NBE has released the list of sponsored DNB seats for the session.
NBEMS started the Sponsored seats scheme from the 2020 admission session. According to this scheme, a sponsored seat is granted to an accredited hospital subject to the fulfilment of the following eligibility criteria-
2 The hospital should have opted for / asked for the inclusion of all the nonsponsored seats in the counselling of the 2024 admission session in the concerned speciality.
3 The department should have completed at least 01 year of accreditation.
4 There should be an additional (surplus) faculty in the department duly approved by the NBEMS to accommodate the sponsored candidate.
The Sponsored seats are earmarked for regular In-Service doctors. The eligibility criteria for the candidates who will be allocated the sponsored seat (For Broad Specialty as well as Direct 6 Year Courses) are as under-
1 The candidate should be a NEET– PG 2024 qualified for Post MBBS DNB seats and PDCET-2024 qualified for Post Diploma DNB seats.
2 The candidate should be employed on a regular basis with the sponsoring Government organisation.
3 The candidate shall have to obtain a study leave, No Objection Certificate and fulfil other requirements as per the terms and conditions of the organization where the candidate is employed.
4 The stipend for the entire period of DNB training shall be borne by the sponsoring Government organization.
5 The candidate will be required to participate in the centralized merit-based counselling through which sponsored seats shall be allocated strictly in order of inter se merit.
In regard to this, the list of the sponsored seats which fulfil the criteria can be seen at the NBEMS official website. As per the sponsored seat lists, there are a total of 1368 seats vacant in DNB courses. The details of the DNB-sponsored seat are as follows-

However, it may be noted that all of the sponsored DNB seats may not be available for counselling. This will also depend on the participating hospitals giving consent for the inclusion of all nonsponsored seats in 2024 counselling in the concerned speciality. The final list of sponsored seats to be included in the 2024 admission session will be displayed on the counselling website.
