3rd-year MBBS medico allegedly commits suicide over breakup, suicide note found
Ghaziabad: In a tragic incident, a 24-year-old MBBS student allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her hostel room in Uttar Pradesh's Modinagar.
The incident occurred on Thursday. According to the police, the student's hostel mates went to her room in the afternoon and found it locked from inside. They knocked but got no response.
Thereafter, the landlord was called and the room door was broken after which the medico was found hanging from the ceiling fan. A suicide note was discovered in her room, indicating that she took her own life due to a breakup.
Speaking to PTI about the incident, the police officials stated, "Divya Jyoti (the deceased) was a third year MBBS student and hailed from Kannauj district. She lived in a rented accommodation in Modinagar town with her friends."

"When her hostel mates went to Jyoti's room in the afternoon they found it closed. They knocked on the door several times but she did not respond. They called on her mobile phone but the call went unanswered," Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Kumar said.
"Her friends immediately informed Manoj Kumar, the landlord, who broke open the rear door of the room and entered inside. They found Jyoti was hanging from the ceiling fan," the officer said.
According to a suicide note found in her room, the woman killed herself because of breakup with her lover.
Police have sent the body for a post mortem and are probing the matter, the DCP further informed PTI.
