5,125 MBBS, 200 BDS seats tentatively available for 2021 Admissions in Tamil Nadu, View detailed seat matrix here

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Government has recently released the tentative seat matrix in the government medical and dental colleges along with the ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR affiliated to Dr. M.G.R Medical University 2021-2022 session.

As per the data revealed by TN Government, there are a total 5000 MBBS seats in 36 medical colleges and 125 MBBS seats in ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR.

Besides, there are 2 dental colleges with an intake capacity of 200 BDS seats.

This information has been provided by the Tamil Nadu Government in the recent Prospectus for admission to MBBS/BDS degree courses in both Government-run and Self-financing medical colleges affiliated to Dr. M.G.R Medical University for the 2021-2022 Session.

Apart from providing information related to age limit, eligibility criteria (for minority and NRI seats), non-eligibility criteria, fee structure, bond terms, the procedure of filling up the application form, etc. the prospectus has also provided the details regarding the seat matrix.

MBBS Seat Matrix:

Among the 5000 MBBS seats, there are 250 MBBS seats each in Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, Madurai Medical College, and Tirunelveli Medical College.

There are 150 MBBS seats in 16 medical colleges including Thanjavur Medical College, Kilpauk Medical College, Coimbatore Medical College, K.A.P. Viswanatham Govt. Medical College, Thoothukudi Medical College, Govt. Kanyakumari Medical College, Govt. Pudukottai Medical College, Govt. Karur Medical College, Govt. Cuddalore Medical College, Govt.Ariyalur Medical College Hospital, Govt. Dindigul Medical College Hospital, Govt.Kallakuruchi Medical College Hospital, Govt. Krishnagiri Medical College Hospital, Govt. Nagapattinam Medical College Hospital, Govt The Nilgiris Medical College Hospital, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Virudhunagar.

In rest of the medical colleges including Govt. Tiruppur Medical College Hospital, Govt. Thiruvallur Medical College Hospital, Govt. Ramanathapuram Medical College Hospital, Govt. Namakkal Medical College Hospital, Govt. Erode Medical College, Govt. Medical College & ESIC Hospital , Coimbatore, Govt. Omandurar Medial College, Omandurar Estate, Thiruvannamalai Medical College, Govt. Sivagangai Medical College, Govt. Thiruvarur Medical College, Govt. Villupuram Medical College, Govt. Dharmapuri Medical College, Govt. Theni Medical College, Govt. Vellore Medical College, Govt. Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Chengalpattu Medical College there are 100 MBBS seats each.
