AIIMS to collaborate with IITs, IIMs, introduce Start up policy for Medicos
New Delhi: To provide knowledge outside the routine of medical education, patient care and research, the premier institute, All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has decided to introduce startup policy for medical students in collaboration with management institutes and corporate industries.
The policy will help the students gain knowledge in other sectors, like management and finance, which is essential if one decides to start their chamber or centre. It has been introduced to promote entrepreneurship among medical students.
AIIMS is reported to collab with popular institutes like the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Management, and Indian School of Business (ISB) so that the students get an idea about integrative learning.

Moreover, Corporate industries like McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group and Bain will also take part in the info-session to provide students with exposure to the world of management.
“Some active measures are also being planned to promote entrepreneurship in AIIMS actively. The ‘Start-Up policy’ for students is also intended to be drafted,” reads a statement reported by ANI
The statement further added, “To facilitate the conversation on this, a meeting is scheduled with the undersigned on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 8 AM in the committee room. Interested students and residents are requested to attend the meeting with the undersigned.”
Commenting on this, the Regional manager (north) from ISB Ketan Tewari said “The AIIMS director will talk about the management industry, its scope and opportunities along with the programmes that ISB has to offer.”
A senior faculty member told TOI, “Apart from treatment, students should also have basic knowledge of other fields like management and finances. This will help them in their career growth if they plan to open nursing homes in future, they would not have to struggle with general issues needed to start the venture.”
“AIIMS has planned this policy considering the changing times and requirements,” said another faculty member.
