Andhra to get its Nature Cure Medical College Hospital in Vishakhapatnam, 50 BNYS seats to be added
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh will soon have its first nature cure medical college hospital, to be established in Visakhapatnam on the premises of VIMS at a cost of Rs 16.40 crore. Admissions for the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS) course will begin in the 2026-27 academic year with 50 seats, State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced recently.
"The first nature cure medical college hospital will be set up in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and admissions to the college will begin from the next academic year," a state minister said, quotes UNI.
“The first nature cure medical college hospital is being established on the premises of VIMS for Rs 16.40 crore. The Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS) classes will commence for the academic year 2026-27. The Centre will approve the filling up of 50 seats for BNYS,” state Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav told UNI
The Health Minister said that the AYUSH Integrated hospitals are getting ready in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada and they would be opened at the earliest to provide medical services to the people. The Government is committed to make available Ayurveda, Homeo, Unani and natural cure medical treatments to the people and new hospitals would be established for the same.

“After bifurcation of the combined AP State, the Central Government in 2016-17 sanctioned a nature cure medical college hospital and two integrated AYUSH hospitals. However, the erstwhile YSRCP-led government acted irresponsibly by not putting in efforts to establish the Colleges in the State during its tenure,” the Health Minister slammed.
As a result of his initiatives, the Centre has sanctioned Rs 7.17 crore for the establishment of AYUSH Integrated hospital in Kakinada and Rs 4.18 crore to establish another hospital in Visakhapatnam, he claimed. The Central government had released funds for the natural cure medical college hospital and two AYUSH hospitals after persistent efforts, Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, revealed.
The construction works of 50 bed AYUSH Integrated hospital is going to be completed soon in Kakinada on the Government Polytechnic grounds premises and medical services would be made available by three months, he observed.
“The making unit of Ayurvedic medicines and a quality testing laboratory will be established in Visakhapatnam at a cost of Rs 6 crore. Proposals were prepared for the establishment of Ayurvedic medical colleges in Dharmavaram and Kakinada,” the Health Minister mentioned.
