DME Gujarat Informs on Cancellation Of Admission Of 6th Offline Round For BAMS, BHMS Courses

Gujarat: The Director of Medical Education (DME Gujarat) has informed about the cancellation of admission of the sixth offline round (fourth stray vacancy offline round) for BAMS and BHMS courses.

The candidates who have got admission to the Ayurveda/Homeopathy (BAMS/BHMS) course by the sixth offline round (fourth stray vacancy offline round) of the Admission Committee and have deposited the tuition fee as per rules in HDFC Bank and deposited the original certificates in the Help Center designated by the Admission Committee, whose admission has been confirmed, if they wish to cancel their admission, they may go to the Help Center designated by the Admission Committee (where the original certificates are deposited). They cancel the admission till 4.2.2023 up to 4.00 PM.

The 6th offline round was concluded on 25.1.2023. No proxy was allowed in this round. The candidates were asked to come in person for the counseling process. The round was conducted through video conferencing across 14 help centers.

All the candidates who are included in the Merit-list of ACPUGMEC were allowed to participate, except the candidates who have secured and joined admission in MBBS & BDS courses in previous rounds of Medical Counseling Committee (MCC)/Previous rounds of State Quota OR except the candidates, who have secured and joined admission in BAMS OR BHMS courses through AACCC, New Delhi. The candidates were asked to give online consent for participation, and those who didn't give online consent were not allowed to participate.

The admission committee allotted the seats as available vacancies, and vacancies arise due to cascading effect of that particular seat. The candidates were called per merit rank.

The medical education department plays a pivotal role in developing medical and paramedical personnel to cater to the state's health needs. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers from peripheral hospitals.

Recently Medical Dialogues team reported that 1060 seats remain vacant after completing the 6th offline round for BAMS and BHMS courses. The Director of Medical Education (DME Gujarat) has announced this through a written notice. After completing the admission process, a total of 364 seats of the Ayurveda course and 696 seats of the Homeopathy course remain vacant after being offered to all the candidates included in the merit list of the admission committee here. Now DME has returned these vacant seats to the colleges.
