Centre Approves 156 PG, 6 SS Seats in Pali and Ajmer Medical Colleges
Jaipur: Bringing good news to the Postgraduate medical aspirants in Rajasthan, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved 162 PG Medical seats in two medical colleges of the State.
While the Government Medical College in Pali has received the Union Health Ministry's nod for 156 PG Medical Seats, additional 6 super speciality seats have been approved at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that MoS Health, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar had informed the Parliament about the total number of medical colleges, MBBS and PG Medical seats in each States.
As per the data provided by the Union Minister of State for Health, Rajasthan has a total number of 2873 PG Medical Seats. Among these, there are 2542 MD/MS Seats and 330 DM/MCh seats in the State.
Now, the State has been granted the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given its nod for another 162 PG Medical Seats in the medical colleges in Pali and Ajmer, adds etvbharat.
The Principal Secretary of the State Medical Education Department has informed the daily that in case of Pali Government Medical College, 5 seats have been approved in each of these following specialities including Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Forensic Medicine, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Opthalmology, ENT and Respiratory Medicine.
In case of the specialities including Microbiology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, and Radio-Diagnosis 7 seats each have been approved. 9 seats each have been approved for Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Pediatrics, 11 seats each in Pathology and Anaesthesia, and 17 seats each in General Surgery and General Medicine.
The daily adds that the State Government is trying to set up medical colleges in every district for strengthening the basic medical services. Referring to this, the Medical and Health Minister of the State, Parsadi Lal Meena told the daily that 12 new medical colleges have been started so far and another 5 new government medical colleges are being prepared to commence soon.
He also claimed that the Central Government has given its nod for new PG medical seats since the medical colleges under the State Government are running with full capacity and they are being managed in a better way.
