FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) FOR 3rd ROUND OF STATE COUNSELLING FOR ADMISSION UNDER NEET PG-2026

Q1 Whether the candidate who has joined the allotted college of Round-I or 2 can upgrade his/her seat during Round-3?

A The candidate who is interested to participate/upgrade his/her seat in Round-3 will have to submit willingness for Govt. Colleges only / Govt. & Private Colleges(both) or Private Colleges only, along with a security fee equivalent to the penalty amount

Q2 Whether the willingness fee has to be deposited again to participate in Round 3, if no seat has been allotted during 2nd Round?

A Not required. However, the candidates will have to submit willingness as per the schedule to participate in the 3rd round.

Q3 Whether the tuition fee paid at the time of joining in the provisionally allotted college during 1st& 2nd Round will be adjusted against the willingness fee for participating in Round-3?

A The candidates who have already deposited fee during 1st & 2nd round equivalent to the security amount need not deposit the requisite fee, provided no penalty would have been imposed; the remaining (proportionate) amount is required (as applicable).

Q4 Whether it is mandatory for the candidate to report to the provisionally allotted college of Round 3?

A Mere payment of the requisite fee amount does not confer his/her right to the provisional allotment. The candidate who is interested in joining the college shall pay the tuition fee and report to the concerned provisionally allocated college. If the candidate does not join the allotted seat of Round 3, the penalty will be imposed and the security amount deposited will be forfeited as per rules and the candidate will be ineligible to participate in any further round.

Q5 Whether the candidate can surrender/leave/resign his/her seat after joining the allotted college of Round-3?

A Once, the candidate joins, the seat will not be allowed to be vacated in the allotted 3rd round seat.

Q6 When will conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?

A The conversion of seat of NRI and reserved categories after exhausting all candidates in the relevant category will be carried out during the 3rd round. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible candidates belonging to the said conversion category have exhausted.

In this regard, it is made clear that during the 3rd round online counselling, one can upgrade/shift seat as per his/her choice. Therefore, any seat may become vacant during the process of 3rd round online counselling due to shifting /conversion of seats. Hence, it is not mandatory to submit only those choices/ preference which are reflected in the vacancy position of seats. Therefore, candidates can submit preferences/choices for seats which are not reflected in the vacancy position of seats.
