Punjab NEET Counselling 2026: BFUHS notifies round 3 schedule, registrations from September 28, check complete details here

As per the schedule, candidates who have joined a seat allotted in Round 1 or Round 2 can surrender or resign from the seat up to 2:00 PM on September 28, 2026, with forfeiture of the security deposit.

Such candidates must submit their surrender or resignation application directly to the Principal of their respective college. Applications sent directly to the university through email, post or any other mode will not be accepted. The university will also display the vacant seat matrix on September 28, 2026.

SCHEDULE FOR 3RD ROUND OF UG MEDICAL/DENTAL ONLINE PUNJAB STATE COUNSELING UNDER NEET UG-2026

ELIGIBILITY AND FEE PROVISIONS FOR 3RD ROUND OF COUNSELLING

Candidates who are required to register afresh for the 3rd Round

The following candidates shall be required to register/apply afresh for the 3rd Round of Counselling and shall deposit the prescribed registration fee and security amount, as applicable-

1 Candidates who are registering/applying for the first time for the 3rd Round of Counselling.

2 Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 2 but did not join the allotted seat, whether fresh or upgraded, shall be required to register afresh for the 3rd Round. Such candidates shall also be required to deposit the prescribed security amount again for submission of willingness and choices/preferences of Course/College/Quota, as per the schedule.

3 Registered candidates who were allotted a seat but whose Round 2 allotment was cancelled during document verification/reporting due to a change in category or any other reason, and who remain eligible for further counselling after forfeiture of the prescribed security amount. Such candidates may be considered for allotment against the changed category, subject to availability of seats in the respective category and fulfilment of applicable rules.

4 Candidates who resigned/surrendered the seat allotted in Round 1 after the stipulated date for free exit and thereafter do not hold any seat may participate in the 3rd Round. Such candidates shall be required to register afresh, submit willingness along with the requisite security amount, as applicable, and submit their choices/preferences of Course/College/Quota as per the schedule.

Candidates who are not required to register afresh for the 3rd Round

The following candidates need not register/apply afresh for the 3rd Round-

1 Candidates who are already registered and were not allotted any seat in Round 1 or Round 2.

2 Candidates who are already registered and holding a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 remain eligible for participation in the 3rd round.

Candidates eligible for seat allotment in the 3rd Round

Candidates who submit willingness will be eligible for seat allotment in the 3rd Round and shall comprise the following groups, subject to fulfilment of the applicable eligibility conditions

1 Group-I: Registered candidates who did not receive any seat allotment in Round 1 or Round 2

2 Group-II: Registered candidates who were allotted a seat but whose Round 2 allotment was cancelled during document verification/reporting due to a change in category or any other reason, and who remain eligible for further counselling after forfeiture of the prescribed security amount. Such candidates may be considered for allotment against the changed category, subject to availability of seats in the respective category and fulfilment of applicable rules.

3 Group-III: Candidates who reported at the institute against the seat allotted to them in Round 2 and have submitted willingness for participation in the 3rd Round for upgradation, as per the applicable rules.

4 Group-IV: Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 2 but did not join and resigned/surrendered the allotted seat after forfeiture of the prescribed security amount, as applicable under the rules.

Candidates not eligible for 3rd Round Seat Allotment

The following candidates shall not be eligible for seat allotment in the 3rd Round-

1 Candidates who have become ineligible due to non-fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria or submission of inadequate/invalid documents.

2 Candidates who have not registered in Round 1, Round 2 or the 3rd Round, as applicable.

3 Candidates who are otherwise rendered ineligible under the Government of Punjab Notification, applicable counselling rules or instructions issued by the University.

REGISTRATION FEE FOR CANDIDATES APPLYING FRESH

Fresh applicants will have to pay an application fee of Rs 5,900, including 18% GST, for the General category, while SC candidates will have to pay Rs 2,950, including GST. They must also submit willingness and deposit the applicable security amount to participate in the third round.

SECURITY AMOUNT FOR SUBMISSION OF WILLINGNESS

The security deposit is Rs 10,000 for Government Colleges, and Rs 5,000 for SC/BC/PwD candidates opting for Government Colleges. Candidates opting for Private Colleges will have to deposit Rs 2 lakh. Those selecting both Government and Private Colleges will also have to deposit Rs 2 lakh.

CHANGE IN WILLINGNESS

If a candidate wishes to change his/her willingness from “Government Colleges only” to “Government & Private Colleges” or “Private Colleges only”, the candidate shall be required to deposit the differential security amount, if any, through the University Payment Gateway.

The revised willingness shall become effective only after successful payment of the applicable differential security amount and submission of the revised willingness within the prescribed time.

LEFT OVER SEATS OF BDS COURSE

In case an adequate number of candidates are not available for the BDS course, then candidates who are not eligible for 85% state quota seats may be considered.

Candidates are advised to carefully exercise their willingness and choices/preferences of Course/College/Quota/Category after considering the applicable security deposit and counselling rules. Submission of willingness and choices shall be subject to the eligibility conditions and provisions applicable to the 3rd Round of Counselling.
