BFUHS To End Round 2 NEET MDS 2025 Counselling Registration Tomorrow

Punjab- The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has begun the 2nd round of online counselling for admission to MDS courses of Punjab State under the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) for the academic year 2025. In this regard, BFUHS has released a notification detailing the complete schedule, eligibility and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

As per the notification, the 2nd round of online counselling for admission to MDS courses of Punjab State under the NEET MDS for the academic year 2025 is starting today, i.e. 15th July 2025. The online registration/application, deposition of application, security deposit and submitting willingness along with security deposit for the 2nd round of counselling by all the candidates and fresh applicants can be done till tomorrow, i.e. 16th July 2025. Below is the detailed schedule-

Date for fresh online registration/application and deposition of application and security deposit for fresh applications along with a fee of Rs. 5900 (Rs. 2950 for SC candidates), including 18% GST through the university payment portal. (Freshly registered candidates will have to submit their willingness along with a security deposit for the 2nd online counselling. Failing which, their candidature will not be considered.

The dates for submitting willingness along with the security deposit, for the 2nd round of counselling, by all the candidates and fresh applicants. The amount of security to be deposited for submitting willingness will be as under: For Government colleges- Rs. 25000/- (Rs. 10000/-for SC/BC/PwD) For Private Colleges- Rs. 2,00000/-

Display of tentative vacancy position of seats for 2 nd round of MDS Counselling.

Last date of correction/editing in the online filled application form. Therefore application will be locked automatically. Once information is filled and locked will not be allowed to change in any round of counselling.

16 July 2025 upto 5.00 PM

Last date for submission of hard copy of admission application form at the University office for NRI quota seats. Candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota are required to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University prior to applying. (Application form for obtaining the Eligibility certificate and admission application form are separately available on the University website.)

16 July 2025 upto 5.00 PM

The candidates who will apply under the Sikh Minority/Christian Minority Quota will report to the respective minority institution (SGRD Institute of Dental Sciences, Amritsar/ Christian Dental College, Ludhiana) for verification of minority status. The candidates who have already/got verified their minority status at the time of 1st counselling, need not report to the respective institute to verify again. The candidates, who have already registered under the Minority Quota during the 1st counselling and did not get their minority status verified, can report to the respective institute for verification of their minority status for the 2nd round of counselling.

The candidates who have joined the allotted seats of Round-I in the State of Punjab are allowed to surrender the seat upto 18-07-2025 upto 3:00 PM with free exit. The interested candidate will have to submit an application for surrendering the seat to the Principal of the concerned college to enable him to surrender the seat on the online portal so that the vacancy for Round-2 will get updated automatically; otherwise, the candidate will be considered as having joined.

The candidates who will submit their willingness for the 2nd round, including NRI candidates, will fill out/submit the online choices/preferences of the speciality/college.

Last date/time for submission of objections to provisional allotment (if any) by the NEET MDS aspirants through email.

The provisionally selected candidates will pay the balance amount of the fee (six-month fee after deducting the amount of the security deposit ) through the university payment gateway available on the University website and will report to the respective college for joining the respective allotted college.

29 July 2025 to 03 August 2025 Upto 5:00 PM

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

The following categories of Candidates are eligible for seat allotment in the 2nd round-

1 CATEGORY I: Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotted in the 1st round.

2 CATEGORY II: Registered candidates, whose Ist round of allotted seat got Cancelled during the documents verification on reporting for admission, who have secured seat under reserved quota, due to change of category from reserved to Unreserved or PWD status from yes to No, but are still eligible in the next round of seat allotment, with changed Category, subject to fulfillment of eligible conditions.

3 CATEGORY III: Candidates who have reported/joined at the allotted institute during the joining period of round-1 of allotment and submitted their willingness to participate in the second round for up-gradation.

4 CATEGORY IV: Candidates who exited during Round-1, availing Free Exit, can log in again with their earlier registered details.

5 CATEGORY V: Candidates who did not register in Round-1 can do a fresh registration and participate directly in Round-2.

NON-ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

The following candidates are not eligible for the 2nd Round of allotment-

1 Candidate who has become ineligible due to having inadequate documents as per the Eligible Criteria as per the Punjab Govt. notification/MCC/Prospectus/DCI.

2 Who have not registered in Round-1 or Round-2.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Q1 After allotment of a seat in the 2nd Round of online counselling, does the candidate need to join the allotted seat?

A No, it is not mandatory to join the allotted seat; however, in case the candidate does not join, the refundable security deposit will be forfeited.

Q2 After joining the Second Round of Counselling, can one leave/ resign the allotted seat?

A Once the applicants join the 2nd round seat, he/she will be allowed to leave/resign the seat within the stipulated period of time. However, in case the candidate leaves/resigns/surrenders the seat allocated in round two or the already allotted seat in round one, the refundable security deposit will be forfeited.

Q3 If a candidate does not report to the allotted college during Round 2, whether he have to register again for Round 3?

A Yes, Candidate security amount will be forfeited and he can participate in Round 3 only with Fresh registration and security deposit.

Q4 Whether the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round -3?

A Yes, the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3. In case the candidate joins the upgraded/allotted seat in Round 3, he/she will not be allowed to resign/leave the seat.

Q5 If the candidate does not join the allotted/upgraded seat during Round 3, whether the security deposit be forfeited?

A Yes, the security amount will be forfeited and the candidate will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling.

Q6 When will the conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?

A The conversion of NRI seats, any reserve category seats and IP seats after exhausting all candidates in the relevant category/quota will be carried out during Round 3. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible Candidates belonging to the said Category/quota have exhausted.

Q7 What are the circumstances under wherein the refundable security deposit will be forfeited?

A Under the following circumstances, the refundable security deposit will be forfeited-

i Where a Candidate has been allotted a seat in Round 2 or subsequent rounds and does not report at the allotted college to complete the admission process.

ii The Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled after allotment for any reason.
