DNB Courses at JLNM Hospital: NBE nod for Anaesthesia, Opthalmology, Paediatrics
Srinagar: Bringing good news to the PG medical aspirants in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has given the accreditation to the Diplomat of National Board (DNB) courses in specialties including Anaesthesia, Opthalmology and Paediatrics at JLNM Hospital, Srinagar.
While 2 post MBBS seats and 1 post-diploma seat has been added to the department of Anesthesia, NBE has given its nod to 1 post-MBBS and 1 post-diploma seat in Opthalmology and 4 diploma seats in Paediatrics, adds Greater Kashmir.
Already the institute has accreditation in medicine besides nod for DNB courses at DH Kupwara and DH Kulgam.

As per the latest media report by Greater Kashmir, the Director of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Mushtaq Ahmad recently congratulated the hospital for this development and also lauded the contribution of Additional Chief Secretary, J&K Health and Medical Education Department Vivek Bhardwaj. Dr. Mushtaq mentioned how they could get the accreditation under the guidance and support of the ACS.
The director further mentioned about the continuous efforts of the ACS in taking the reviews regarding the progress of DNB accreditation and how he had solved all the problems regarding the DNB courses and had acted like the guiding force for achieving the desired results.
While commenting on the matter, the spokesperson of DHSK, Dr. Mir Mushtaq informed how the director had congratulated the staff and the administration of the hospital and also expressed his hope that other Kashmir-based institutes will also receive NBE nod for DNB courses in future.
He also mentioned how the NBE programs are crucial cornerstones for the upgradation of health care services because they provide the opportunity to the doctors for upgrading their skills and said, "It will help in producing more qualified doctors and help in better patient care delivery and will overcome the shortage of specialist doctors at peripheries."
