Fact Check: NBE Notice Claiming NEET PG 2024 Registration from 9th January is Fake
New Delhi: The notice issued under the name of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) claiming that the registration for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination started from 9th January onwards is FAKE.
As per the notice, which has been circulating on social media platforms, the NEET PG 2024 examination shall be held on March 3rd, 2024 and the applications for the same can be submitted till January 20th, 2024.
The Claim:
The concerned letter claims to have been issued by NBE on 09.01.2024 for inviting applications for NEET PG 2024. "National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) shall conduct the NEET-PG 2024 on 3rd March 2024 on a Computer Based Platform at various test centres across the country," claimed the notice.
"Please refer to the Information Bulletin at NBEMS website (9th January 2024 onwards) for eligibility criteria, fee structure, scheme of examination and other details," it further added.
As per the concerned notice, the applications for the NEET PG 2024 exam can only be submitted online at the official website from 9th January, 2024 (11AM onwards) to 20th January, 2024 (till 11:55 PM). The notice further claimed that the results of NEET PG 2024 shall be published by 24th March 2024.
Further, the notice also advised the candidates to "kindly ignore the information published in some other news websites regarding postponement of NEET-PG 2024."

Fact Check:
Referring to the notice claiming that the registration for NEET PG 2024 started on 09.01.2024, the Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) Dr. Rohan Krishnan also confirmed it to be fake.
"This is a FAKE NOTICE circulated. Don’t trust whatsapp or Telegram notice. Wait for actual official order and Notice on NBE WEBSITE ONLY. Notice will come soon. We should wait till Thursday/ Friday. Dates will be confirmed in the notice," he mentioned in a X (formerly Twitter) post.
He also requested the NBE, the Union Health Ministry, the Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and the National Medical Commission (NMC) to confirm the dates in the Fast-track approach. "Aspirants to relax and trust only website of Nbe," advised Dr. Krishnan.
Meanwhile, amid the circulation of this fake notice, NBE issued a notice on 09.01.2024, which is available on the official website and announced the postponement of the NEET-PG 2024 exam.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that issuing the notice on January 9th, 2024, NBE mentioned, "The NEET-PG 2024 shall now be conducted on 7 th July 2024."
"The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 shall be 15th August 2024," it further mentioned, adding that "The candidates are advised to check the exact dates of examinations from the Information Bulletins/ NBEMS website as the above dates are purely tentative and subject to approvals & confirmations."
