Over Rs 1 crore fee for some PG medical Courses in private universities in Haryana
Haryana: The Postgraduate medical education in Haryana will now become big-budget as MBBS doctors willing to pursue MD/MS courses in a private university will have to shell out exorbitant amount of more than Rs 1 crore for a three-year PG medical course.
A gazette to this effect was recently rolled out by the Haryana Government, elaborating on the revised fee structure for MD/MS/MDS Courses in various Government, Government Aided, Private Medical and Dental Educational Institutions including those under Private Universities namely SGT University, Budhera, , PDM University Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar and Al-Falah University, Faridabad for the academic session 2023-24.
The new fee structure elucidates the rise in demand for pursuing MD (dermatology, venereology and leprosy) course among the medicos since the fee structure for the said course has been set extremely high when compared to other PG medical courses.
The fee for the above mentioned course run under SGT Medical College, Hospital and Research Institute as fixed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary (SGT) University, Budhera, Gurugram (a Private University) has been pegged at Rs 38 lakh per annum, that would amount to Rs 114,00,000 (over Rs 1 crore) for the entire three-year course.
With this exorbitant fee, MD (dermatology, venereology and leprosy) is marked as the costliest PG course to be offered by the private university for the academic session 2023-2024 after MD (radiodiagnosis) for which the students will have to cough up Rs 40 lakh per annum. These are followed by MD (general medicine) and MS (obstetrics and gynaecology) that will cost Rs 33 lakh each, per annum.
However, courses including anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology and physiology is pegged at Rs 10 lakh at SGT University.
