Final-year MBBS student of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College allegedly commits suicide
Rajnandgaon: In an unfortunate incident, a final-year MBBS medico of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College was found dead at her hostel. No suicide note has been recovered by the police and the reason by the alleged suicide is not known as of yet.
Speaking to PTI, police officials informed, "a 21-year-old woman medical student allegedly committed suicide at the hostel of the Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College in Rajnandgaon city of Chhattisgarh on Thursday."
"****, a final year of MBBS student hailing from Bikaner in Rajasthan, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room, said Navratan Kashyap, station house officer, Lalbag police station.
“No suicide note was found at the spot and further investigation was underway,” he added.

Dean of the medical college Dr Renuka Gahine told PTI that the student's friends went to check on her as she did not turn up for an internal examination. They raised alarm when she did not open the door despite repeated knocks and shouting.
A guard peeked through the window and found her hanging, following which police were alerted, the dean said.

Medical Dialogues recently reported about a suicide case at another renowned medical college wherein a third-year NRI MBBS student of Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling in her hostel room on Monday night.
According to the medical college authorities, the student was having a hard time and going through difficulties due to her personal crisis which she disclosed to her friends. Her friends stated that she showed no signs of taking such extreme step and also underwent counselling from the institute's psychiatry department.
