38-year-old doctor falls to death from 4th floor of Nellore Medical College
Nellore: In an unfortunate incident, a 38-year-old Assistant Civil Surgeon working at a Primary Health Centre (PHC) allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of Government Medical College (GMC) in Nellore on Monday.
According to the police, the doctor reportedly ended her life shortly after receiving a phone call. Hence, the identity of the caller and the motive behind her decision to jump from the building are yet to be determined.

The deceased was an Assistant Civil Surgeon at a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Chittaluru village of Chejerla mandal. She was married and had a three-year-old daughter and her husband who works as a doctor at Nellore Government General Hospital (GGH).
As per The Hindu reports, she visited the medical college to attend a cancer screening training programme for a week. She participated in the training programme along with the other PHC doctors till the afternoon. During lunchtime, she received a call and afterwards jumped from the top floor of the college building.
Following this, she was rushed to the medical college hospital in an unconscious state and the doctors soon after declared her dead.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and sent her body to the mortuary for post-mortem. Further, the police officials are collecting information regarding the deceased from her parents. An investigation in this regard is underway.
