Four MBBS students caught cheating in exams, debarred for one year
Indore: After four MBBS students were caught cheating in the exams, the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur has debarred them from appearing in the exams for one year.
The strict action from the MPMSU came in order after the four students were caught red-handed cheating during the university examination held in February 2023.
Following this, the administration notified the board which conducted investigations to verify the allegations. Based on the internal probe report, MPMSU banned these three students of MGM Medical College and one student of Shri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) from appearing in the upcoming exams for a period of a year.
These four students who were caught cheating include a MBBS final year part 2 student who appeared in the first paper of Gynecology and Obstetrics held on February 20, another MBBS final year part 2 student in the first paper of Surgery held on February 13.
Similarly, a MBBS 2nd Prof in the 2nd paper of pathology held on February 16 and MBBS 2nd year during the second paper of pathology on February 16.
Speaking about the matter, the officials of MPMSU told FPJ "the action has been taken to warn the students as no cheating would be tolerated."
To avoid such incidents from occurring in future, MGM Medical College has deployed a guard in the washroom to prevent cheating by the students and MGM dean Dr Sanjay Dixit inspected examination halls on Wednesday following complaints of cheating during ongoing PG examination.
Medical dialogues team had earlier reported a similar incident that took place in MGM medical college where two final year MBBS students were debarred by the Unfair Means Committee of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) rom appearing in the exams for two years.
Around 50 students, belonging to a detained MBBS batch, were writing their Third Prof (Part-II) exams at MGM Medical College back in February, when the flying squad of the University found those two medicos cheating in the exams with the help of micro size Bluetooth.
