Fraud : Student booked for producing fake documents to gain admission in Tanda Medical College

Dharamsala: Mandi based student had allegedly forged documents , to get a medical seat in Tanda Medical College (TMC). The girl reportedly produced a fake admission letter in order to impress her father.

Upon investigation, the Police discovered that the girl had created a fake offer letter to impress her father, and are seeking to track down the person who helped her create it. The police have not yet arrested the girl.

The Principal of Tanda Medical College, Dr. Bhanu Awasthi told that the State University informed the college authorities about the girl who is from Mandi district, that she provided fake documents and the admission should not be granted. After looking into the matter, the college authorities found that the girl came on Wednesday with the fake documents to get admission to TMC.

As per reports in The Tribune, they then informed the local police about her and a case was registered against her.

According to SP, Kangra, Khushal Sharma, "the girl had created a forged offer letter that she had cleared NEET and was eligible for admission to Tanda Medical College. The medical university found out that the registration number she had used on the offer letter was of another student, who had already taken admission to the IGMC, Shimla."

The hospital was founded on 28 October 1952 composing of 200 beds. It was the gift by Rai Bahadur to the Kangra residents. The recent report stated that Tanda Medical College is the only hospital with a facility for cancer treatment in the lower Himachal which was converted into a COVID hospital. The super-specialty wing of the hospital caters to cancer, cardio and neuro patients has remained closed since last month.
