ICMR Invites Applications For Annual Training Programme in Immunohaematology for Medical Officers, Lab Technicians, All Details Here
New Delhi- The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is organising an annual training programme in Immunohaematology. On this, ICMR has issued a notice detailing the course, duration and other relevant information of the programme while inviting applications for the same.
The training program is an orientation course for medical officers and laboratory technicians currently working in blood banks. This course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of red cell serology and an introduction to new aspects of immunohematology.
The following TOPICS will be covered during the course-
1 Principles of Immunohaematology.
2 Red cell serology-
i Blood grouping and Crossmatching techniques.
ii Detection and identification of atypical antibodies.
iii Antenatal and postnatal serology.
iv Confirmation of Bombay blood group.
v Investigations of transfusion reaction.
vi Quality control of blood group reagents.
vii Adsorption Elution techniques in immunohematology.
viii Resolving problems in blood grouping and crossmatching.
3 Use of Flowcytometry in Immunohaematology.

Information for MEDICAL OFFICERS-
QUALIFICATION-
i M.B.B.S. from a recognised University with at least two years of experience in blood banking.
ii M.D Transfusion medicine students.
SPONSORSHIP- The candidates will have to pay Rs.7000/- as tuition fees.
Information for TECHNICIANS-
QUALIFICATION- B.Sc with five years of experience in Blood Bank. B.Sc., DMLT candidates will be given preference.
SPONSORSHIP- The candidates will have to pay Rs.5000/- as tuition fees.
Applicable to both Medical Officers and Laboratory Technicians-
The tuition fees must be submitted by the selected candidates on the first day of the training course, in the form of a demand draft, made payable to the Director, National Institute of Immunohaematology. T.A. and D.A. etc to be borne by the sponsoring institution
BOARDING- Candidates should make their own boarding and lodging arrangements during their stay, though the Institute may provide some assistance to acquire guest house accommodation.
FORWARDING- Completed application forms and the necessary certificates should be forwarded by the Head of the Institution through email or by post by 2nd April 2024.
Technicians and Doctors coming together for training from the same blood bank will be given preference. Candidates who are selected for the course will have to bring along with them a relieving letter from his/ her institution.
