JIPMER MEDUCON 2023 To Conduct Workshop in September, Check out Details
Puducherry: Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Medical Education Conference (MEDUCON) 2023 organized by the Department of Medical Education and Alumni Association of NTTC, JIPMER (AANJ) to conduct the workshop in September this year.
Proposals from interested individuals and MEU Teams are invited to conduct in-conference workshops in various areas of Medical and Health Profession Education. Interested individuals must apply for the same once the MEDUCON website goes live. The abstract for the workshop should reach the conference secretariat at (https://jipmermeducon.com/) by 15th May 2023. The result will be announced on 31st May 2023.
The pre-conference workshops will be held on 28th September 2023, and the main conference will be held on 29th September 2023 and 30th September 2023. The call for conducting an in-conference workshop link will be available on the website. The workshop's theme will be "Emerging Challenges in Health Professions' Education." The detailed program schedule is enclosed in the notice below.
The duration of the conference workshop can range between 60 to 90 minutes. The scientific committee will assess the proposals, and the six most relevant proposals will be selected for participation. The subject of the workshop must be in the area of medical or health professional education. It can be in any subject related to educational science. However, clinical research will not be considered. The workshop will have to be conducted on-site in the conference venue. All selected resource faculty of the workshop must register for the conference. The conference organizers will pay no TA/DA or honorarium.
Registration for the conference –
Compulsory for paper presentation & workshop participation Early Bird (Till 31st May 2023) - INR 4000 for alumni & INR 5000 for non-alumni members from 1st June to 15th August 2023 - INR 5000 for alumni & INR 6000 for non-alumni member Spot registration: INR 7000.
Registration for pre-conference workshops –
INR 1000 per workshop. One can register for up to two pre-conference workshops (one in the forenoon and one in the afternoon) (Limited to 30 participants per workshop on a first-come, first-served basis).
The participants will have to pay the registration charges online. The account details are enclosed in the notice below. They have to make their own arrangements for their travel and accommodation. JIPMER will pay no TA/DA in this connection.
The Medical Education Conference (MEDUCON 2023) aims to bring all medical educators and various stakeholders together and provides a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences in the emerging areas of Medical education. This conference aims to look at various challenges faced in health professions education and make suggestions to policymakers for quality medical education across the nation. It will allow networking with like-minded colleagues at national and international levels.
The following will be the target audience –

The themes for the in-conference workshops include the following –

Only registered participants can submit their posters for presentation. Posters on research outcomes, best practices and short communications in medical education are allowed for presentation during the poster session. A structured abstract comprising the title of the project, authors and affiliation. What problem was addressed? What was tried? What lessons were learned? strictly not exceeding 500 words should be submitted to the organizing secretary via email to jipmermeducon@gmail.com on or before 31st July 2023.

The first National Teacher Training Centre (NTTC) was established in JIPMER by the Government of India with the assistance of WHO in 1975 to promote the training of health professionals in educational science and technology. The first National Course on Educational Science for Teachers of Health Professionals was held in March 1976. The NTTC is celebrating its 45th anniversary, and the 89th National Course will occur before MEDUCON 2023. Since 1994, the NTTC has continued functioning under the Department of Medical Education (DME), JIPMER.
Further, the Alumni Association of NTTC JIPMER (AANJ) is a professional body of members trained in various NTTC courses. AANJ members actively participate in the Medical Education Conference (MEDUCON), seminars, webinars, and workshops organized by DME, where they share their educational thoughts and research findings. The AANJ provides a platform for members to share their knowledge and skills and showcase their achievements in medical education, and it strongly supports educational networking.
