Lucknow: Bringing good news to the doctors aspiring to pursue higher studies, King George's Medical University (KGMU) is going to start a post-doctoral certificate course (PDCC) in a total number of 28 departments.
Doctors, who have completed their post-graduation, will be eligible to pursue PDCC. The tenure of this programme is of two years. In KGMU, this post-doctoral certificate course will be offered in various departments including medicine surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and psychiatry.
The decision to start PDCC courses at the University was taken on Tuesday, during a meeting of the members of the academic council of the university. The Vice-Chancellor of KGMU Prof Soniya Nityananda chaired the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the members of the academic council, heads of all departments, and professors.
During the meeting of the Academic Council, it was decided to ensure that the institute had the standards for starting the PDCC course. It was also decided that the number of courses and the number of seats approved can be determined based on the number of doctors present in that particular department, the number of OPD and admitted patients, availability of beds etc. The members of the council have approved this unanimously.
