Kota MBBS intern awarded certificate of appreciation by Rajasthan CM

Kota: A Kota-based MBBS intern was recently felicitated with a certificate of appreciation by Rajasthan Chief Minister for her academic achievements during an event at Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort on the eve of Independence Day.
Speaking to PTI, officials informed, "Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma felicitated a Kota-based MBBS intern Komal Verma Saluja with a certificate of appreciation for her academic feats during the 'At Home' event at the Maharangarh Fort in Jodhpur."
Several social workers and folk artistes from across the state were also felicitated for their contributions to their respective fields at the event held on the eve of Independence Day on Thursday.
Komal Verma Saluja, who secured 67th rank in NEET-UG 2020, and scored the highest marks in the 2023 MBBS examination conducted by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, is currently pursuing her internship, officials said.

She was selected for the prestigious Khorana Programme of Scholars, a research internship programme for students in biotechnology and allied fields, besides publishing research papers in a number of journals on several topics, including radiology and rheumatology, adds PTI.
Speaking after being felicitated by the chief minister, Komal emphasised the importance of discipline and genuine passion for achieving goals.
“I know success in medicine is not a sprint but a marathon. I am thankful to my family members, principal and teachers, who guided, motivated and pushed me forward,” she said.
“My goal is to serve humanity through evidence-based medicine,” Komal added.
Medical Dialogues earlier reported that Rajasthan had a total of 6,476 MBBS seats and 361 postgraduate seats in medical colleges for the academic year 2024-25, following an addition of 901 UG seats and 78 PG seats in government colleges along with 283 PG seats in private colleges.
According to the data shared by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Anupriya Patel informed the Rajya Sabha recently, Rajasthan has seen a steady rise in medical education capacity in the last five years. MBBS seats have increased from 4,200 in 2020-21 to 6,476 in 2024-25, with yearly additions of 300 seats in 2020-21, 480 in 2021-22, 395 in 2022-23, 500 in 2023-24, and 901 in 2024-25.
