Maha CET Cell releases eligibility conditions for candidates seeking medical admissions under NRI Quota, Details
Maharashtra: The Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell, (Maha CET Cell) has issued eligibility conditions for persons who claim or sponsor candidates for medical admissions under NRI Quota.
According to the norms as per the notification released on the official website of Maha CET Cell, the person having a 1st-degree blood relationship with the students are to be considered as a sponsor of the candidate for granting admission under NRI Quota. The person's concern can be father or mother or real brother or real sister or father/mother of father, i.e., paternal grandfather/grandmother or the real brother/sister of father/mother or 1st degree paternal and maternal cousins.
The guidelines are based on the direction of the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti vide its meeting dated 27th September 2007. The student should be NRI and ordinarily residing abroad, with documentary evidence to that effect and an affidavit supporting the facts above.
To prove the NRI status of the claim/sponsor, the following documents are required to be submitted –
- Original affidavit (of the current academic year) of claimant/sponsor disclosing his full identity, i.e., full name, age, residence, occupation, relationship with the candidate, etc., duly signed by the sponsor.
- Sponsors valid passport & VISA.
- Certificate of embassy stating NRI status of the sponsor or
- Proof of residence, i.e., telephone bill / electrical /water supply bill/rent receipt /lease agreement/property tax copy, etc., from last six months (with full name and address of the sponsor).
- If the sponsor/student is an overseas citizen of India (OCI) and he/her nationality belongs to a foreign country, in such cases, sponsor/student's valid passport & O.C.I card, sponsor /student original affidavit (of the current academic year) in the prescribed format, original recent affidavit (of the current academic year) of the mother/father students in prescribed form are to be submitted to the concerned sponsor/student.
- To prove the relation between the sponsor and the candidate original affidavit (of the current academic year) of claimant disclosing his full identity, i.e., full name, age, residence, occupation, relationship with sponsor along with family tree duly signed by the student or his/her parents in the prescribed format, leaving certificates/ birth extracts/ mark sheet / PAN card/passport/marriage certificate, etc. of the concerned relative members shown on family chart/tree have to be submitted.
As per the above directions, the students must submit the requisite documents in original and duly attested by the Gazette Officer. Each page of the documents with full text should be properly attested. The original affidavits must be submitted at the time of document verification.
