MBBS Exam Scam: 80 MBBS Students Under Scrutiny Amid Allegations
Haryana- In the ongoing "MBBS exam scam" investigation, answer sheets of around 80 MBBS students of private colleges have come under scrutiny after their names were mentioned in a complaint alleging irregularities in the examination process.
Medical Dialogues earlier reported that staff at three private medical colleges were accused of rewriting their answer sheets using pens with erasable ink and textbook references. On this, an MBBS student of a private college complained with the university administration, and exposed this racket in a recorded video.
It was alleged that the answer sheets of annual and supplementary MBBS course exams were rewritten after illegally obtaining them from Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, the TribuneIndia report.
The complainant also alleged that the answer sheets were taken to a particular place outside the university and rewritten by persons other than the students concerned. Therefore, for investigation, a three-member committee formed by the university had sought the answer sheets of the suspected students from the record room.
According to Tribune news report, a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the director of Karnal-based Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College will probe the veracity of allegations of re-writing of answer sheets after the exam. Along with this, the local office of the Anti-Corruption Bureau was also investigating the matter at its level.
Meanwhile, the complainant has also alleged that the masterminds of the scam not only got the answer sheets rewritten but also ensured that students passed during re-checking. However, top officials of the university refused to comment, saying investigations were ongoing.
Moreover, these three private medical colleges are now required to send their students to government institutions for examinations, as private institutions will no longer serve as exam centres for them due to the alleged scam.
