MBBS will be offered in Hindi in Madhya Pradesh, says State Edu Min
Bhopal: Medical Education Minister of the state Vishwas Sarang on Thursday informed that the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course will now be taught in India's mother tongue to help local students cope with the language barrier.
He said that Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College will start offering MBBS courses in the Hindi language from this April.

Addressing a press conference in Bhopal, Vishwas Sarang said, "MBBS will be taught in Hindi medium. Bhopal's Gandhi Medical College to start offering MBBS course in Hindi from April."
"Various researches have also shown that learning in mother tongue is beneficial and has better results," the Minister added.

A meeting chaired by Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang on January 28 had decided to form a committee to prepare a plan and submit a report for translating the MBBS syllabus into Hindi. According to an order published on February 7, deputy secretary of the medical education department KK Dubey stated that the decision to form the committee was taken on January 28.
Recently Medical dialogues team had reported that the Department of medical education came up with a plan to translate the MBBS syllabus into Hindi which would also benefit the Hindi medium students. Medical Education Minister, Vishwas Sarang also reported "Our government has decided to offer MBBS education in the Hindi medium, as well. Hindi is our national language and there was a long-standing demand from various sections that MBBS education should also be provided in Hindi. Various researches have also shown that learning in one's mother tongue is beneficial and offers better results. It's scientifically proven. The whole syllabus will be translated without making any changes to it. We decided to translate the curriculum and start the MBBS education in the Hindi medium as early as possible."
