1,219 MBBS, BDS, BSc nursing seats available for MCC NEET counselling 2026 special stray vacancy, round 5- Details

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a seat matrix containing 1,219 seats for the NEET UG 2026 Special Stray Vacancy Round for MBBS and the fifth round of counselling for BDS and BSc Nursing courses.
The seat matrix provides details of seats across government institutions, central universities, deemed universities, AIIMS and institutions participating under the Employees' State Insurance Scheme (ESI).
The matrix includes the names of participating institutions, states, courses, quotas, reservation categories and the number of seats available for allotment. Candidates can use these details to identify the seats for which they are eligible before submitting their choices.
The MBBS vacancies are spread across several states, with a significant number of seats listed at deemed universities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Below is the detailed seat matrix-
SEAT MATRIX FOR SPECIAL STRAY VACANCY ROUND FOR MBBS AND 5TH ROUND OF BDS/BSC NURSING 2026
S.NO | COURSE | NUMBER OF SEATS |
1 | MBBS | 946 |
2 | BDS | 207 |
3 | B.Sc Nursing | 66 |
GRAND TOTAL | 1,219 | |
Apart from deemed universities, MBBS seats have been listed at several government medical institutions.
For BDS aspirants, the fifth-round matrix includes seats at government dental colleges, central universities and deemed institutions. The seats are distributed across various reservation categories and quotas, making it important for candidates to verify the category against each institution.
The matrix also includes BSc Nursing seats for Round 5 counselling. The seat matrix contains several categories, including Open, OBC, SC, ST and EWS, along with seats marked for Persons with Disabilities.
It also distinguishes between All India, NRI, self-financed merit, central university and other institution-specific quotas.
Candidates should therefore not rely only on the number of seats shown against a college. They must also check the course, quota and category applicable to each seat before exercising their choices.
The matrix provides the seat position for the notified counselling rounds and does not represent the number of candidates who will ultimately receive allotments.
