6 NEET 2026 candidates move SC alleging OMR sheet discrepancies
New Delhi: Six candidates who appeared for the re-conducted NEET UG 2026 examination have approached the Supreme Court alleging discrepancies between the answers they marked in their OMR sheets during the examination and the copies of those OMR sheets uploaded by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
According to a PTI report, all six candidates had secured more than 600 or 650 marks and claimed that the OMR sheets made available by the NTA did not reflect the answers they had actually marked during the examination.
The candidates sought an urgent hearing before the commencement of the NEET UG 2026 counselling process.
The matter was mentioned on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) before a Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana.
The lawyer told a Bench comprising Chief Justice Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana that the case pertains to six students who secured more than 600 and 650 marks but claim that the OMR sheets uploaded by the NTA differ from the answers they had actually marked during the examination.

He also told the court that the students had emailed the NTA and also visited its office, but received no response.
The Bench then agreed to list the matter for hearing.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam, originally held on May 3, was cancelled following a paper leak and was re-conducted on June 21 by the NTA.

Earlier, A NEET 2026 candidate approached the Delhi High Court alleging discrepancies in the evaluation of his examination, claiming that the score displayed on the National Testing Agency (NTA) result portal changed three times within a span of less than 24 hours. The petition sought judicial intervention for verification of his original physical OMR answer sheet and preservation of all examination-related records.
