7 PG medical seats available at AFMC: Special Stray Vacancy Round from 10th January, details

7 PG medical seats available at AFMC: Special Stray Vacancy Round from 10th January, details

Pune: Armed Forces Medical College, Pune (AFMC) is going to conduct a special stray vacancy round for 7 seats of PG Medical courses. The counseling for Priority III & IV will be held on 10th January 2023 (3:00 pm), and Priority V will be held on 12th January 2023 (7:30 am) and 13th January 2023 (9:00 am).

Priority III & IV counseling will be conducted via video conferencing on an online platform. The counseling for Priority V will be held physically (offline) at AFMC, Pune. Priority V candidates are to report at Dhanvantari Auditorium at AFMC, Pune, on 12th January 2023 at 7:30 am on an empty stomach for medical examination. PG counseling will be done on 13th January 2023 at 9:00 am for only medically fit Priority V candidates. Any candidate reporting after the stipulated time will not be entertained for counseling.

Candidates desirous of admission to Post Graduate courses at AFMS institutions and fulfilling the initial eligibility criteria mentioned below must register for AFMS institutes on the DGHS website (MCC website www.mcc.nic.in) for centralized counseling. The candidates should check their eligibility for participation by themselves. Final eligibility will be ascertained at the time of admission.

Priority V (Civilian) candidates will have to undergo a medical examination by a duly constituted medical board to assess their fitness for a commission per the criteria. They will be admitted only if found fit.

The seats are available in the following institutes –

1. Armed Forces Medical College, Pune

2. Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt.

3. Command Hospital (Central Command), Lucknow

Eligibility criteria –

1. A candidate must be a citizen of India

2. Candidates not holding any seats through any counseling and whose names do not appear in the seat allotment list published by MCC.

3. Only Priority III, IV & V candidates of the AFMS matrix may apply. All candidates should have registered on the MCC website for the mop-up round. Per the MCC notification, no fresh registration is required for the Special Stray Vacancy round.

4. Candidates must have MBBS Degrees registered with State Medical Council or NMC (Erstwhile MCI). Students who have completed the internship by 31st July 2022 are eligible to apply along with a provisional registration certificate.

5. The candidate must have appeared in NEET- PG 2022 and scored a minimum qualifying mark as indicated by MCC. MCC has notified vide their notification dt 19th October 2022 that the cut-off for the NEET PG 2022 has been reduced to the 25th percentile.

Age criteria –

1. Sponsored candidates: As per Govt. of India rules.

2. Civilian candidates (Priority V): Maximum permissible age will be 30 years on 31st December 2022 (DOB on or after 01st January 1993).

As per AFMC, there is no reservation based on caste/ religion, etc., and the selection will be purely based on merit. A candidate already pursuing any Post Graduate course or holding any PG course in any medical institution, including AFMS institutions, shall not be eligible for admission to another PG course in the academic year 2022.

The number of candidates to be admitted in any discipline will be determined by the number of PG teachers available, the student-teacher ratio, and any other criteria laid down by the NMC/ affiliated universities from time to time. The number of available seats will be communicated to the counseling committee before the session.

Candidates admitted will have a service liability/bond liability binding as per Government of India instructions on the subject.

The order of preference is as follows –

1. Priority-III: Medical officers sponsored by Para Military Forces/ other central Govt. of India org.

2. Priority-IV: Ex-SSC AFMS officers released from service after completion of contractual service, within three years after the release from service (i.e., the date of release should not be before 01st May 2019 for the session starting from 20th October 2022.

3. Priority-V: Civilian doctors willing to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) for 05 years after completion of the course subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The candidate will have to execute a bond agreement to pay an amount as sanctioned by the Govt. of India at the time of admission, in case unwilling to join AFMS, when offered commission on completion of the course.

List of certificates to be submitted in original by selected candidates on the day of counseling/admission –

1. 6 Passport size photographs

2. Print out of registration details page from the DGHS website, www.mcc.nic.in, for counseling

3. NEET-PG 2022 scorecard as published by NBE

4. SSLC/ICSE certificate as a valid certificate of proof of age

5. Nationality certificate/Xerox copy of valid passport and domicile certificate (where applicable)/ Birth certificate endorsed with nationality as India on it

6. First of final year MBBS mark sheets of the respective university

7. MBBS pass certificate/degree certificate

8. Internship completion certificate

9. Permanent/provisional State Medical Council registration certificate

10. Attempt certificate

11. Transfer certificate/Migration certificate

12. Educational Gap affidavit, if any

13. Allotment letter, which will be published on the website after counseling is over

Priority III Candidates –

1. Subject-specific sponsorship certificate (as per format available on the website) issued by the respective Para Military/ other Central Government of India organization is mandatory. This has to be produced at the time of counseling, without which candidates shall not be allowed to attend counseling.

2. During counseling, candidates will be considered eligible for only those subjects mentioned in their sponsorship certificate duly signed by competent authority delegated by the Head of the respective Organization.

3. Original copy of the sponsorship certificate must be submitted at admission.

Priority IV Candidates –

1. In the case of Ex-AMC SSC Officers, a release order from Armed Forces Medical Services by DGAFMS/ concerned Medical Directorate and a movement order from the last unit for proceeding on release will be required to be shown in the original at the time of counseling and admission.

2. SSC Officers in their last year of contractual service will have to produce their original release order from the Armed Forces Medical Services at the time of counseling, without which the candidate will not be allowed to attend the counseling.

3. SSC Officers, in their extended contractual service, must also have a copy of the permission letter from the O/o DGAFMS besides the proof of being released from services.

Priority V Candidates –

1. Civilian doctors willing to take admitted to the AFMS Institutions to pursue PG courses will have to report to AFMC, Pune, for physical counseling as mentioned above.

2. All civilian candidates joining AFMS Institutions for PG degree (MD/MS) course for the session 2022-25 will have to execute a Bond of Rs. 54.5 Lakhs (Rupees Fifty Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only) as per GSL No 17436/DGAFMS/DG-1D/334/21/D(Med) dt 15th March 2021.
