AIIMS INI SS January 2026 session counselling schedule, procedure released, check complete details

AIIMS Releases Detailed Schedule for INI-SS January 2026 DM/MCh Online Institute Allocation

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi, has announced the detailed schedule and process for online institute allocation for admission to DM/MCh superspecialty courses under the INI SS January 2026 session.

All the concerned candidates are advised to take note of the following details as released by the AIIMS New Delhi on its official website.

Schedule for 1st Round of Online Institute Allocation-

1 Exercising of Choices (Institute against applied subject/speciality) for First Round From: 20.12.2025 (Saturday) to 26.12.2025 upto 05.00 pm (Friday)
2 Announcement of Institute allocation of 1st Round 29.12.2025 (Monday)
3 Online Acceptance of allocated Institute From: 30.12.2025, 11.00 am (Tuesday) to 06.01.2026 up to 05.00 pm (Tuesday)
4 Reporting & Submission of Documents/Security Deposit From: 30.12.2025, 11.00 am (Tuesday) to 06.01.2026 up to 05.00 pm (Tuesday)

Schedule for 2nd Round of Online Institute Allocation-

1Announcement of Institute allocation of 2nd Round20.01.2026 (Tuesday)
2Online Acceptance of allocated InstituteFrom: 21.01.2026, 11.00 am (Wednesday) to 28.01.2026 up to 05.00 pm (Wednesday)
3Reporting & Submission of Documents/Security DepositFrom: 21.01.2026, 11.00 am (Wednesday) to 28.01.2026 up to 05.00 pm (Wednesday)

Sunday & Gazetted Holidays will be holiday.

The list of eligible candidate for online Institute allocation (Obtain qualifying marks i.e. 50% of total marks) will be published before start of choice making. The link for the portal will be activated only for eligible candidates on “My Page” accessible by logging in using the credentials that have been used for filling completion of application form and other processes related to INI SS for admission to DM/M.Ch. courses for January 2026 session in aiims website.

THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND DATE OF VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATE FOR ADMISSION-

• Eligibility criteria and date of validity of certificates remain same as published in INI-SS Prospectus for January-2026 session.
• The Institute allocation will be done in order of merit among the candidates registered within/on specified date & time.
• Kindly note that the choices cannot be edited and reordered after closing date of exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation. The allocation of 2nd Round will be done as per choices made by the candidates during exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation.

Aiims has also released the Information brochure for 1st round of online institute allocation (institute against applied subject/ speciality) / process for dm/m.ch. Courses for january 2026 session.

ELIGIBILITY-

Eligibility criteria as per INI-SS Prospectus Part-A & Part-B including any notices published have been applied considering the information provided by the candidates in online registration form.
Candidates as per Result Notification No. 328/2025 and 329/2025 dated 19th December, 2025 will be eligible to participate in the 1st Round of the Online Institute Allocation. This shall be subjected to the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the prospectus/notices published on website.
PROCEDURE-
1. The eligible candidate can access the online seat allocation portal through link available after login in their login page where they have applied for INI-SS January 2026 Session.
2. To retrieve the login credentials, click on the forgot your login details button in the registration/login page.
3. The INI-SS Online Institute Allocation portal will allow candidates to make choices of Institute (a combination of Institute against applied subject/specialty) as per his/her eligibility. The candidate can arrange the choices in desired order preference. There is no limitation on number of choices (Institutes) that can be made by the candidates subject to eligibility. The choices can be edited and reordered within the date and time specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal. 4. The Portal will remain open on dates specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal. The choices made by the candidate will be locked either by the candidate OR will be automatically locked on the last Date and Time as specified in the Important Dates link in the Portal.
5. Kindly note that the choices cannot be edited and reordered after closing date of exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation. The allocation of 2nd Round will be done as per choices made by the candidates during exercising of Choice of 1st Round of seat allocation.
6. All the candidates who have been allocated Institutes in the 1st Round are required to login to the INI-SS Online Institute Allocation portal and actively choose one of the following options within date and time specified in the Important Dates link:
Option 1. ACCEPT allotted Institute and DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE in further rounds of Institute Allocation.
Option 2. ACCEPT allotted Institute and WANT TO PARTICIPATE in 2nd ROUND of Institute Allocation
[If you choose option-2 and participate in 2nd round and you are allocated another Institute as per your choice in 2nd round, then you will have to join the Institute allocated during 2nd round. The Institute allocated in first round shall be considered vacated and the same shall be automatically allocated to other candidates in order of merit. Failure to join the upgraded Institute shall lead to impositions of penalty of Rs. 3.00 Lakh]
Option to REFUSE the allocated Institute is NOT available. Therefore, the candidates are requested to fill the choices carefully and responsibly. Candidate himself/herself shall be responsible for their choices.
Failure to login and selecting an option after Institute allocation within date and time specified in the Important Dates link will lead to forfeiture of the allocated Institute and render the candidate ineligible for further rounds except open/spot round of Institute Allocation (if any).
7. All the candidates who are allocated Institute are mandatorily required (irrespective of whether they choose in Option 1 and 2 as mentioned in point no. 4) to report in-person (for reporting and/or joining, to allocated Institute within the date and times specified in the Important Dates link. The candidates are required to deposit original certificates or security deposit of Rs. 3.00 Lakh on notification of the Institute allocation of the 1st Round at the time of reporting.
8. FOREIGN NATIONAL CANDIDATES-
a) The Institute allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2.
b) The candidates will be eligible to exercise of choices of Institute only as per applied Subject those are filled in the online registration form and eligibility as per information provided therein.
9. SPONSORED CANDIDATES-
i. The Institute allocation will be done in order of merit and according to choices made by the candidates as described in point no 2 against seats as published in respective category as per applicable rule.
ii. In case any discrepancy found in online data with Sponsorship certificate valid information as in Sponsorship certificate will be accepted as per eligibility criteria.
iii. The candidates are eligible to exercise of choice of Institute only as per applied Subject in which sponsored Institutes are available and issued by the respective competent authority received at the Examination Section AIIMS, New Delhi within specified dates.
iv. In case, the NOC has been received in place of Sponsorship certificate, the Institute allocation will be done as per subject/Institute available in the online registration.
v. If the subject is not mentioned against the candidate’s name in the Sponsorship certificate, no allocation will be done for that institute.
vi. All allocation of Sponsored candidates will be done on the basis of Institute available against applied subject and that is mentioned in the Sponsorship Certificate/online registration for January 2026 session.
vii. Only one best Institute available at that rank will be allocated during online Institute allocation.
viii. The process of admission will be done as per procedure available for other candidates.

Note:- • Those who have not been allocated any Institute in the first round of Institute allocation, the allocation will be done in the second round of Institute allocation as per their choice in order of merit, the guidelines given in the Information brochure.

10. Upper Age Limit
1.) AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS under INI-SS for January 2026 session:
• General Category- 35 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1991 are eligible)
• ‘Sponsored Category’- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category.
2.) NIMHANS, Bangalore (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of NIMHANS under INI-SS for January 2026 session:
• General Category- 37 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1989 are eligible)
• ‘Sponsored Category’- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category.
3.) SCTIMST Trivandrum (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of SCTIMST under INI-SS for January 2026 session:
• General - 40 Years (candidates Born on or after 01.01.1986 are eligible)
• Sponsored –However, for admission to SCTIMST, the upper age limit for the sponsored category would be 50 years.
4.) PGIMER, Chandigarh (As on 1st January 2026): The age validation for Courses of PGIMER under INI-SS for January 2026 session:
• General Category- 45 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.01.1981 are eligible)
• ‘Sponsored Category’- There is no age limit for Sponsored Category.
5.) JIPMER, Puducherry (As on 1st January 2026): There is no age limit for any category.
Note: - Any additional information regarding “Age Limit & Relaxations”, as per published in prospectus Part-A on the AIIMS website www.aiimsexams.ac.in shall be applicable.
11. All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the INI-SS by AIIMS, New Delhi and Online Institute Allocation / Counseling will be subject to the jurisdiction of High Court of Delhi only.
12. The 2nd round will be initiated after completion of 1st round.

In the other notice aiims had also shared the Online Institute Allocation Process, Only the eligible candidates Result Notification No. 328/2025 and 329/2025 dated 19thDecember, 2025 will be able to exercise their choices (Institutes) for online Institute allocation.

The Eligible candidate can access the online seat allocation portal through link available after login in their login page where they have applied for INI-SS January 2026 Session.

To retrieve the login credentials, click on the Forgot your login details button in the Registration/login Page.

Registration for the online Institute allocation process

An email containing link for the online seat allocation Portal and login credentials (Login ID and Password) will be sent to the registered email address of the eligible candidates. Further candidate can also login through their MyPage on clicking the link for online seat allocation, the eligible candidates will be directed to online DM/M.Ch Seat allocation portal where the candidates will have to login by click on “Forgot Password” button for online seat allocation. This password is only to access the online DM/M.Ch Seat allocation portal.

The candidate will be able to login to the online DM/M.Ch Seat allocation portal and begin the process of making choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and order the choices. The online DM/M.Ch Seat allocation portal will be remained open for date and time specified in the Important Dates link.

Making Choices

The choices can only be made after you have logged in using the password for this portal. On logging in, confirm your name and candidate ID. Click on Make Choice button to proceed to exercise choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order. To add a choice, choose the Institute and the subject/speciality from the two separate drop-down menus and Click Add choice. To remove a choice, click on Delete button against that Choice (Institute and subject/speciality).Click on the Save button to save the choices of Institute and subject/speciality and their order.
The default order of your choices (Institute and subject/speciality) will be the order in which you add choice (Institute and subject/speciality). To re-order your choices, use up and down arrows OR Drag and Drop the choice (Institute and subject/speciality) to appropriate position in the list.
Candidates can make choices (Institute and subject/speciality), edit or reorder them as many times they wish UNLESS they have already submitted and locked the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) OR last date and time for that Round is over. The candidate must save the choices (Institute and subject/speciality) in case they wish to add/delete/reorder them at a later time point (before the last date and time for that Round).

Submitting and Locking Choices

The candidate should click on the Submit and Lock Choices tab and tick the check box I accept the declaration and click on the submit and Lock choices (Institute and subject/speciality). Note that you will be prompted twice to reconsider and after you have submitted and locked your choices (Institute and subject/speciality), you cannot change it for that Round.

In case the candidate has made and saved choices but could not submit and Lock choices, the last saved choices (Institute and subject/speciality) and their order will be automatically considered as submitted and locked choices (Institute and subject/speciality).

Viewing and Printing the Choices after submission

The candidate can view the choices submitted and locked by them by clicking on the View choices button after logging in the online Seat allocation portal. Click Print button to take a printout.

In case of any discrepancy please send a query to the Assistant Controller (Examinations) Through the help/query section of choice making dashboard.
