Appearing for NEET PG 2026- Check out exam scheme, marking allocation

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the Scheme of NEET PG 2026 exam through its Information Bulletin.
The online application process commenced on July 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM, will remain open until 11:55 PM on July 21, 2026. Information regarding the exam city will be provided on August 11, 2026.
SCHEME OF NEET-PG 2026
As per the Information Bulletin, NEET-PG 2026 shall be conducted on 30-08-2026 through a computer-based examination in a single day.
SYLLABUS
The syllabus for the exam shall comprise the subject/knowledge area as per the MBBS Curriculum issued by the National Medical Commission / the erstwhile Medical Council of India.
The examination shall comprise 180 Multiple Choice Questions, with each question having 4 response options/distractors in the English language only. Candidates are required to select the correct / best / most appropriate response / answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question. Time allotted for the examination is 03 hrs 30 minutes.

Allocation of marks for each MCQ shall be as follows-
During the examination, candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review, which means that the candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the examination time ends. Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme mentioned above.
The question paper for NEET-PG 2026 will be divided into five time-bound sections, namely Group A, B, C, D & E. The questions from subjects of the MBBS curriculum shall be distributed across these five sections of 36 questions each. Each section will have 42 minutes of time allotted for the section. Candidates would be restricted from proceeding to the next section till completion of the allotted time of the previous section and candidates would not be allowed to review the questions/ modify the responses of a section after the completion of the allotted time of that section. Questions of the next section will start automatically after the completion of the allotted time of the previous section.
However, it is to be noted that the actual number of such time- restricted sections may vary based on the total number of questions in the question paper and operational feasibility in making such sections.

STEPS FOR A COMPUTER-BASED TEST
STEP 1- Submit Online Application Form.
STEP 2- Edit Application in Edit Window, if required.
STEP 3- Rectify Images in Final Edit Window, if asked.
STEP 4- Watch Demo Test (At NBEMS Website).
STEP 5- Download Admit Card.
STEP 6- Report at Test Centre on Scheduled Date &Time.
STEP 7- Security Check-in Process.
STEP 8- Registration for Test + Face ID & Biometric Capture.
STEP 9- Examination Begins.
STEP 10- During Exam FaceID/Biometric Verification.
STEP 11- Examination Ends.
