BDS, BAMS counselling in Puducherry: CENTAC informs on conduct of mop up round, instructions for candidates

BDS, BAMS counselling in Puducherry: CENTAC informs on conduct of mop up round, instructions for candidates

Puducherry: Through a recent notice, the CENTAC has informed about the conduction of the mop-up counselling session for BDS and BAMS admissions this academic year. The counselling body is going to hold the mop-up round in both web conferencing and physical mode and for the same, it has released the instructions for the concerned candidates.

In view of the COVID pandemic, Mop-up Counselling for BDS and BAMS courses will be done both through web conferencing and physical mode as shown below:

Candidates can select their mode of counselling. Using their Dashboard login credentials, Candidates have to choose their mode of counselling- Web Conferencing or Physical mode before 10 am,19.01.2021.

Candidates selecting the off line mode have to report to the regional centres in person and register their names by 9 am on 20-01-2021.
The list of Regional Centres will be published in the CENTAC Website. Counselling for Management Quota seats will be done only through web conferencing on 20.01.2021. Using their Dashboard login credentials, Candidates have to submit their willingness to participate in Mop up Counselling for Management Quota before 10 am, 19.01.2021. Web Conferencing Link will be sent to only those who register.
Links will be sent to the CENTAC registered Emails of all the Candidates participating in Management Quota and Candidates who have selected online mode for participating in Govt. Quota . In case of difficulty, if any, in participating through web conferencing due to connectivity issues, the candidates will be allowed to call on the phone numbers 9566688077/8778157517 and choose the seats. Candidates are instructed to use the above Mobile Numbers only on the Day of Counselling. However, they can mail their queries to centacprof@gmail.com.
Eligibility / Sliding
Students who have joined the BDS/BAMS Course till 2nd round counselling are also eligible for Mop-up Counselling and sliding is allowed. This is done based on the consideration that a candidate should be able to choose the college of his choice based on merit. Students who have not joined are also eligible for Mop-up counselling. However, already admitted MBBS candidates are not eligible for counselling.

Vacancy Details
Provisional vacancy details are published on 17th Jan 2021 in the CENTAC website. Candidates are requested to evaluate their chances based on the vacancies and CENTAC will not be responsible for not calling anyone for counselling.
Joining Date: Students should join on or before 25-01-2021. Students can report either physically or through online, in view of the COVID restrictions.
Reservation
MOP-UP Counseling will be done in sessions. In first session reservation will be allowed and all Candidates in the respective Category will be called. Thereafter unfilled seats will be converted into unreserved seats and offered as per Merit. MOP -UP Counseling will be done separately for Government and management Quota seats.. Conversion of Vacant Seats will be done as per the guidelines issued by the Health Department, Govt. of Puducherry.

Candidates will be called in the order of Merit. Please see the vacancy details and evaluate your choices and accordingly decide for participation in counselling.

Expressing Willingness for 1:10 list.
After MOP UP Counseling, CENTAC will be sponsoring the list of interested candidates to the colleges against the incidental vacancies that arise after MOP UP counseling in the ratio of 1:10 i.e., if 5 Vacancies are there then list of 50 candidates in order of merit will be sponsored.
Candidates who are already registered with CENTAC will be required to enter their choice to participate in the 1:10 list to be sponsored to the colleges after MOP UP round, for incidental vacancies, if any. Candidates who have already joined will be excluded from the 1:10 list. Please note that the names of the Candidates who have not expressed willingness will not be sponsored. The choices will be closed by 1.00 pm on 26th Jan, 2021.
