Beware of Admission Frauds: IP University Issues Alert Against Touts Promising Direct Admissions
New Delhi- Through a recent notice, the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU)- IP University, the university has asked the aspirants to be aware of touts promising direct admissions to the university.
The University has asked the candidates to be aware of touts as GGSIPU has received complaints from some candidates and their parents that some agents/touts are claiming to be representatives of the colleges/institutions affiliated with the university. These agents/touts are promising the candidates direct admission to various programmes in the affiliated colleges/institutions of the University and therefore asking these candidates to transfer money through various apps and also demanding cash. These agents/touts are promising direct admission to the affiliated colleges/institutions by sending messages/emails/WhatsApp messages to the candidates, the university said.
In this regard, the university has issued an official notice advising all the parents/candidates to not fall prey to such messages being sent by agents/touts who have fraudulently obtained access to the telephone numbers/emails of the candidates. However, candidates are also advised not to share their login ID and password details with anyone during the entire counselling process.
In the meantime, candidates or parents are also been requested to inform the PRO/Chief Vigilance Officer, GGSIP University, if they are approached by any touts or agents, claiming to be a representative of the University or any affiliated college/institution, and promising to get the candidates admitted in colleges affiliated to the University.
The Admissions at GGSIP University and all affiliated Colleges in all the programmes through the Centralized Counselling process which is purely on the basis of the merit of the Candidates in the CET examinations conducted by the University or merit in the entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. The Admissions at GGSIP University and all affiliated Colleges are through a completely transparent merit-based process through a Centralised Counselling held online or for a few programmes in offline mode.
The notice also instructs to note that information regarding Centralised Counselling is provided by the University on the GGSIP University website therefore, candidates are advised only to follow the instructions as given in the Admission Brochure/ Notices uploaded on GGSIP University's official website and Online Counselling website.
