BFUHS notifies Round 2 NEET PG counselling schedule, details

Faridkot: The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has issued the detailed timetable for the second round of NEET PG 2025 counselling for MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB, Sports Medicine, and Six-Month Ultrasonography Training courses under the Punjab State quota.

The updated schedule outlines everything candidates need to know-fresh registration dates, willingness submission, security deposit details, NRI and minority verification, merit list timelines, choice filling, seat allotment, and final reporting.

The university has also clarified eligibility for Round 2 and the rules on seat surrender and upgradation.

1 Display of tentative vacancy position of seats for 2nd round of NEET PG Medical Counseling Note: The candidates can submit choices/preferences of college/seat as per their choices even if vacant seat is not shown in the vacancy position as the candidates can surrender the seat of 1st round upto stipulated period and vacancy position will be updated accordingly. 10.12.2025
2 Date for fresh online registration/application and deposition of application and security deposit for fresh applications alongwith fee of Rs. 5900 (Rs. 2950 for SC candidates) including 18% GST through university payment portal. (fresh registered candidates will have to submit willingness alongwith security deposit for 2nd online counseling . Failing which their candidature will not be considered. 10.12.2025 to 11.12.2025
3 The dates for submitting willingness alongwith security deposit for 2nd round of counseling by all the candidates and fresh applicants). The amount of security to be deposited for submitting willingness will be as under: For Government colleges- Rs. 25000/- (Rs. 10000/-for SC/BC/PwD) For Private Colleges- Rs. 2,00000/-
4 Last date of correction/editing in online filled application form. Therefore application will be locked automatically. Once information filled and locked will not be allowed to change in any round of counseling. Note: Since, fresh applications are invited for 2nd round of online counseling under NEET MDS 2025, hence already registered candidates of 1st round counseling (if any ) who intends to edit any Category/Minority Quota/other particulars will give request/application personally in the Admission Branch, BFUHS upto 11.12.2025 alongwith relevant proof for consideration in 2nd round of online counseling as last chance. No request shall be entertained through email. Thereafter no request will be entertained. 11.12.2025
5 Last date for submission of hard copy of admission application form at University office for NRI quota seats. Candidates seeking admission under NRI quota are required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from the University prior to apply. (Application form for obtaining Eligibility certificate and admission application form are separately available on University website.) 11.12.2025
6 The candidates who will apply under Sikh Minority/Christian Minority Quota will report to the respective minority institution (SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences, Amritsar/ Christian Medical College, Ludhiana) for verification of minority status. The candidates who have already/got verified their minority status at the time of 1st counseling, need not report to the respective institute for verify again. The candidates, who have already registered under Minority Quota during 1st counseling and did not get their minority status verified, can report to the respective institute for verification of their minority status for 2nd round of counseling. 12.12.2025
7 PCMS incentive category candidates will submit hard copy of online Admission Application Form alongwith self attested copies of certificates, NOC and Eligibility Certificate issued by the Competent authority and proof of fee remittance by hand in Admission branch, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Upto 12.12.2025 by 05.00 PM
8 The candidates who have joined the allotted seats of Round-1 in the State of Punjab are allowed to surrender the seat upto 13.12.2025 upto 05:00 PM with free exit. The interested candidate will have to submit application of surrendering the seat to the Principal of concerned college to enable him to surrender the seat on the online portal so that vacancy for Round-2 will get updated automatically. Note: The vacancy position will be updated automatically in the online portal; hence candidates are advised to fill/review preferences/choices as per automatically revised vacancy. 13.12.2025 Upto 05.00 PM
9 Display of Provisional Merit List of candidates who will submit willingness to participate in 2nd round of online counseling 13.12.2025
10 Last date for submission of objections by applicants in Provisional Merit List (if any) by the NEET PG aspirants through email (pgbfuhs@ggsmch.org). 14.12.2025 Upto 11.00 AM
11 Dates for filling/submitting online choices/preferences of college/specialty through online portal 13.12.2025 to 15.12.2025
12 Processing of seat allotment 16.12.2025 to 18.12.2025
13 Display of provisional allotment/Result 19.12.2025
14 Last date/time for submission of objections to provisional allotment (if any) by the NEET PG aspirants through email (pgbfuhs@ggsmch.org). 20.12.2025 upto 11.00 AM
15 Display of revised provisional allotment/result after any change in provisional allotment due to objections (if any). Upto 21.12.2025
16 The provisionally selected candidates will pay the balance amount of fee (Six month fee after deducting amount of security deposit ) through university payment gateway available on University website and will report to the respective college for joining in the respective allotted college 22.12.2025 to 28.12.2025

The following categories of Candidates are eligible for seat allotment in 2nd round:

Category-I: Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotted in the 1st round.

Category-II: Registered candidates, whose 1st round of allotted seat got Cancelled during the documents verification on reporting for admission, who have secured seat under reserved quota, due to change of category from reserved to Unreserved or PWD status from yes to No, but are still eligible in the next round of seat allotment, with changed Category, subject to fulfillment of eligible conditions.

Category-III: Candidates who have reported/joined at allotted institute during the joining period of round-1 of allotment and submitted willingness for participating in second round for up-gradation.

Category-IV: Candidates who exited during Round-1 availing Free Exit can log in again with their earlier registered details.

Category-V: Candidates who did not register in Round-1 can do fresh registration and can participate directly in Round-2

The following candidates are not eligible for 2nd Round of allotment:

a) Candidate who has become non- eligible due to having inadequate document as per Eligible Criteria as per Punjab Govt. notification/MCC/Prospectus/MCI

b) Who have not registered in Round-1 or Round-2

Frequently asked questions (FAQs):

1. After allotment of seat in 2nd Round of online counseling does the candidate need to join the allotted seat?

No, it is not mandatory to join the allotted seat, however, in case the candidate does not join, there fundable security deposit will be forfeited.

2. After joining Second Round of Counseling, whether one can leave/ resign the allotted seat?

Once the applicants join the 2nd round seat, he/she will be allowed to leave/resign the seat within stipulated period of time. However, in case the candidate leaves/resign/surrender the seat allocated in round two or already allotted seat in round one, refundable security deposit will be forfeited.

3. If a candidate does not report at the allotted college during Round 2 whether he has to register again for Round- 3?

Yes, Candidate security amount will be forfeited and he can participate in Round 3 only with Fresh registration and security deposit.

4. Whether the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round -3?

Yes, the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3. In case, the candidate will join the upgraded/allotted seat in Round 3, he/she will not be allowed to resign/leave the seat.

5. If the candidate does not join the allotted/upgraded seat during Round 3, whether the security deposit will be forfeited?

Yes, the security amount will be forfeited and the candidate will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counseling.

6. When will conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?

The conversion of NRI seats, any reserve category seats and IP seats after exhausting all candidates in relevant category/quota will be carried out during the Round 3. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible Candidates belonging to the said Category/quota have exhausted.

7. What are the circumstances wherein the refundable security deposit will be forfeited?

Under the following circumstances the refundable security deposit will be forfeited:

i. Where a Candidate has been allotted a seat in Round -2 or subsequent rounds and does not report at the allotted college to complete the admission process.

ii. The Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled after allotment due to any reason. E.g., in case the candidate gives wrong information at at the time of registration on the basis of which a seat may be allotted and later cancelled by the Admission Authorities at the time of reporting or fails to produce the required documents at the time of admission.
