BFUHS To Begin Round 2 NEET PG Counselling, check out schedule, FAQs
Punjab- Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) is soon going to begin the 2nd round of online counselling for admission to postgraduate (PG) medical courses in the state of Punjab under the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. In this regard, BFUHS has released the schedule, FAQs and allotment details.
As per the schedule, the 2nd round of online counselling for admission to PG medical courses in the state of Punjab under the NEET PG 2024 is scheduled to commence on 14th December 2024 and will conclude on 28th December 2024.

1 | The candidates who have joined the allotted seats of Round-I in the State of Punjab are allowed to surrender the seat upto 14.12.2024 with free exit, The Interested candidate will have to apply to surrender the seat to the Principal of the concerned college to enable him to surrender the seat on the online portal so that vacancy for Round 2 will get updated automatically, otherwise, the candidate will be considered as joined. | 14 December 2024 |
2 | Display of tentative vacancy position of seats for 2nd round of counselling | 09 December 24 |
3 | The dates for submitting willingness along with the security deposit for 2nd round of counselling by all the candidates (already registered candidates). The amount of security to be deposited for submitting willingness will be as under- i For Government colleges Rs. 25000/- (Rs. 10000/- for SC/BC) ii For both Govt. & Private Colleges - Rs. 2,00,000/- iii For Private Colleges - Rs. 2,00,000/- | 09 to 12 December 24 |
4 | The candidates who will apply under the Sikh Minority/Christian Minority Quota will report to the respective minority institution (SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences, Amritsar / Christian Minority College, Ludhiana) for verification of minority status. The candidates who have already got verified their minority status at the time of 1" counselling, need not report to the respective institute for verification again. The candidates, who have already registered under Minority Quota during 1 counselling and did not get their minority status verified, can report to the respective institute for verification of their minority status for 2nd round of counselling. | 10 December 24 |

11 | The provisionally selected candidates will pay the balance amount of the fee (A six-month fee after deducting the amount of the security deposit) through the university payment gateway available on the university website and will report to the respective college for joining the respective allotted college. | 24 to 28 December 24 |
ELIGIBILITY
1 Category-I- Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotted in the l" round.
2 Category-II- Registered candidates, whose 1st round of allotted seats got Cancelled during the
documents verification on reporting for admission, who have secured seats under
reserved quota, due to a change of category from reserved to Unreserved or PWD status
from yes to No, but are still eligible in the next round of seat allotment, with changed Category, subject to fulfilment of eligible conditions.
3 Category —III: Candidates who have reported/joined at the allotted institute during the joining period of round-1 of allotment and submitted willingness for participating in second round up-gradation as 'yes'.
4 Category-IV: Candidates who exited during Round 1 availing of Free Exit can log in again with their earlier registered details.
NON-ELIGIBILITY
1 Candidate who has become non-eligible due to having inadequate documents as per Eligible Criteria as per Punjab Govt. notification/MCC/Prospectus/DCI.
2 Who has not registered in Round I
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Q1 After allotment of seat in 2nd Round of online counseling does the candidate need to join the allotted seat?
A No, it is not mandatory to join the allotted scat, however, in case the candidate does not join, the refundable security deposit will be forfeited.
Q2 After joining the Second Round of Counseling whether one can leave/resigns the allotted seat?
A Once the applicants join the 2"d round seal. hi/she is allowed to leave/resign the seat within the stipulated time. However. in case the candidate leaves/resigns/surrenders the seat allocated in round two or already allotted sent in round one refundable security deposit will be forfeited.
Q3 Whether the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round -3?
A Yes, the candidate can upgrade the Round 2 allotted seat during Round 3. In case, the candidate will join the upgraded/allotted seat in Round 3, he/she will not be allowed to resign/leave the seat.
Q4 If the candidate does not join the allotted/upgraded seat during Round 3, whether the security deposit be forfeited?
A Yes the security amount will be forfeited? Yes, the security amount will be forfeited and the candidate will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling.
Q5 When will the conversion of seats to open merit be carried out?
A The conversion of seats of NRI and any reserved category after exhausting all candidates in a relevant category will be carried out during Round 3. The said conversion will be done only when the eligible Candidates belonging to the said Conversion Category have exhausted.
Q6 What are the circumstances wherein the refundable security deposit will be forfeited?
A Under the following circumstances the refundable security deposit will be forfeited:
i Where a Candidate has been allotted a seat in Round 2 or subsequent rounds and does not report at the allotted college to complete the admission process.
ii The Security Deposit will be forfeited if the admission gets cancelled after allotment due to any reason. E.g., in case the candidate gives wrong information at at the time of registration on the basis of which a seat may be allotted and later cancelled by the Admission Authorities at the time of reporting or fails to produce the required documents at the time of admission.
