CENTAC invites registrations for round 3 NEET counselling 2026, notifies deadline for admitted seat resignation

As per the notice issued by the CENTAC in this regard, for Round 3 admission to the first year MBBS, BDS & BAMS (Ayurveda) (National SS) courses in Government and Self-Financing Medical, Dental & Ayurveda colleges in the U.T. of Puducherry, payment of the Registration Fee and filling of Course Preferences under Government (GQ), Management (MQ), Management - Telugu Minority (MQT) and NRI Quota is already enabled till 05 October 2026, 5.00 pm.

All students who are registered with CENTAC, including the candidates allotted during Round 1 or Round 2 (Joined / Not Joined), are eligible for Round 3 counselling.

The notice also stated that “In accordance with the Interim Order dated 08/09/2026 in W.P.No.15159 of 2026, the Fee Structure for Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Research Institute shall be as extracted by the Hon’ble Court in Para – 3 of the said order (Interim Order for W.P. No. 15159 of 2026), subject to final outcome. As a corollary, the Fee for the Dental Course by Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College & Research Institute shall be as prescribed in the order cited by the Court in respect of the MBBS course”.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1 In Round 3, it is mandatory for the candidates to join the allotted seat if they are sliding based on their course preferences from the Round 1 or Round 2 admitted seats.

2 If a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 3 counselling and if he/she fails to join the allotted seat, then the Forfeiture amount prescribed for the Course, Quota & Category will be forfeited. Further, he/she will be ineligible for further rounds of counselling.

3 A list of such ineligible candidates will be published on the CENTAC website after Round 3 admissions.

4 Candidates who were admitted in Round 1 / Round 2 and who retain their seats in Round 3 or who are allotted in Round 3 will NOT be eligible for participation in further rounds of counselling.

5 Round 1 or Round 2 admitted candidates will not be permitted to resign their admitted seat after Round 3 allotment.

6 Round 3 allotted and admitted candidates will not be permitted to resign their seat after Round 3 admission.

RESIGNATION / WITHDRAWAL OF THE ROUND 1 OR ROUND 2 ADMITTED SEAT

Candidates who have joined their CENTAC allotted seat in Round 1 or Round 2 and who are now desirous of Resigning / Withdrawing the admitted seat with Forfeiture of the registration fee of Round 2 may submit their Resignation Request Letter through the Candidate’s Login Dashboard on or before 05 October 2026, 5.00 pm.

PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE FOR MBBS/ BDS / BAMS

To participate in the Round 3 counselling, the candidates are required to submit willingness, pay the Registration Fee and then submit course preferences. Below are the detailed fees-

Candidates opting for both Government Quota and Management Quota / NRI Quota should pay the Registration fee of Rs. 2,00,000 /- alone towards participating in Round 3 Counselling.

Candidates are requested to transfer the Registration Fee to the CENTAC account through Net Banking or by generating an NEFT / RTGS challan using the payment option available in the dashboard login credentials and proceed with payment.

For bank transfer, pay the exact amount reflected in the challan to ensure that the amount is not returned. In case of NEFT / RTGS, the challan generated can be used only once. Read the help Instructions carefully before proceeding with payment.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE FOR ROUND 3

Only those candidates who pay the Registration Fee as noted above will be considered for Round 3.

ADMITTED CANDIDATES

1 Candidates who have already been admitted through Round 1 / Round 2 counselling, except EBC / SC /ST / GSS candidates admitted under Government Quota, can participate in Round 3 without payment of the Registration Fee.

2 However, UT of Puducherry EBC / SC / ST / GSS (Government School Quota) candidates admitted under Government Quota in Round 1 / Round 2 should pay the Registration Fee (or balance if any Registration Fee has already been paid in Round 2) as prescribed above, towards participating in Round 3 Counselling.

NOT ADMITTED CANDIDATES

1 Those candidates who have not paid any Registration Fee in Round 2 need to pay the full Registration Fee for Round 3 and submit course preferences.

2 Those candidates who have paid the Registration Fee in Round 2 and have not been allotted a seat need to pay the balance of the Registration Fee, if there is a difference in the Registration Fee for Round 2 and Round 3, and submit course preferences.

3 For those candidates who paid the Registration Fee and were allotted a seat in Round 2 but did not join, the Registration Fee paid in Round 2 has been forfeited as per the allotted quota. Hence, such candidates need to pay the full Registration Fee again for Round 3 and submit course preferences.

CRITERIA FOR REFUND / FORFEITURE

1 For a candidate who is not allotted a seat in Round 2, the Registration Fee will be refunded.

2 For a candidate who is allotted a seat in Round 3 and joins the course, the Registration Fee will be adjusted with the Tuition Fee; i.e., Round 3 allotted candidates need to pay the balance Tuition Fee by adjusting the Registration Fee already paid.

3 For a candidate who is allotted a seat in Round 3 and fails to join the course, the amount as per the allotted quota and course will be forfeited, and the balance fee, if any, will be refunded.

4 All refunds will be initiated only after completion of the entire UG NEET counselling process.

SUBMISSION OF COURSE PREFERENCES

1 The course preferences submitted in Round 2 are null and void and all candidates registering for ROUND 3 should submit course preferences afresh for Round 3.

2 Due care should be taken by the candidates in filling in the order of course preferences.

3 Sliding will be allowed in Round 3. So, vacancies may arise dynamically in any course at the time of allotment. Accordingly, course preferences need to be submitted irrespective of the vacancies published.

4 In Round 3, once the candidate submits willingness, and if a new seat is allotted based on Round 3 course preferences, then the course in which the candidate was admitted in Round 1 or Round 2 will be automatically cancelled.

5 The candidate is solely responsible for filling course preferences. No request for change in course preferences will be entertained after the last date for Round 3 registration.

6 No seat will be allotted if the course preference is empty.

7 As per the directions received from RIVER, only NRI/OCI/Wards of NRI/OCI parents are eligible for the NRI vacant sea.

CONVERSION OF UNFILLED SEATS IN ROUND 3

1 In Round 3, the unfilled NRI seats, if any, in IGMCRI, MGPGIDS & RIVER, Puducherry, will be converted into Self-supporting seats (All India Management Quota seats) and filled in Round 3 itself. If the converted Self-Supporting seats in IGMCRI & MGPGIDS, Puducherry remain unfilled, then they will be converted into Government Quota seats and allotted in Round 3 itself.

2 In Round 3, after filling the Telugu Minority Management Quota Seats, the remaining unfilled seats will be converted into All India Management Quota and filled in Round 3 itself after exhausting the Minority Quota merit list.

3 So, accordingly, Management Quota course preferences are enabled in Round 3.

4 The fee structure for Self-Supporting seats (All India Management seats) of IGMCRI, Puducherry will be as that of the fee fixed by the Fee Committee for unaided private Self-Financing Institutes of the U.T. of Puducherry.
