CENTAC releases round 1 NEET 2026 counselling draft allotment list, check details

Puducherry: The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has released the Round 1 Draft Allotment List for UG NEET based courses for the 2026-27 academic year. According to the list, 882 candidates were allotted seats against 903 available seats across MBBS, BDS, and BAMS courses.
The draft allotment, published on the official website of CENTAC, covers seats under the Government, Management, NRI and Sports quotas. However, MBBS seats at Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital and Research Centre and BDS seats at Sri Venkateshwaraa Dental College have not been included in the Round 1 draft allotment.
According to the seat-wise breakup released by CENTAC, 903 MBBS, BDS, BAMS seats were available for the current allotment exercise, of which 882 have been allotted. Below is the detailed list-
| S.No | Course | Category | Total Seats | Allotted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | MBBS | Government Quota | 334 | 323* |
| 2 | MBBS | Management Quota | 221 | 221 |
| 3 | MBBS | NRI Quota | 98 | 98 |
| 4 | BDS | Government Quota | 86 | 81 |
| 5 | BDS | Management Quota | 115 | 115 |
| 6 | BDS | NRI Quota | 5 | 5 |
| 7 | BAMS | Government Quota | 44 | 39 |
| Total | 903 | 882 |
CENTAC further stated that four seats have been withheld pending the outcome of Writ Appeal W.A. No. 2674 of 2026 before the Madras High Court.
CENTAC has also clarified that candidates who received seats in JIPMER under the “Internal-Puducherry U.T. Domicile” category through the MCC Provisional NEET-UG Counselling Round 1 allotment and did not submit willingness to participate in CENTAC counselling have been removed from the CENTAC Round 1 Draft Allotment List.
Candidates can check their individual allotment status by logging into their CENTAC dashboard. Those who find any discrepancy or wish to raise an objection can do so through the “Grievances” option before 11 am today, i.e. September 3, 2026.
Once the objections received from candidates are examined and disposed of, CENTAC will publish the Round 1 Provisional Allotment List.
Importantly, CENTAC has asked students not to treat the draft allotment as a final admission. The committee has specifically clarified that the draft list is indicative and subject to change, and candidates cannot claim a right over a seat merely on the basis of the draft allotment.
Candidates should therefore not approach their allotted college or institute at this stage. They have been advised to wait for the Round 1 Provisional Allotment List and report to the institution only after downloading their Provisional Allotment Order from the login dashboard.
