DME Assam Invites Applications From Candidates Seeking MBBS Admission In Govt Medical Colleges Under Special Quota
Assam: The Director of Medical Education (DME Assam) has invited applications from candidates seeking admission into 1st year MBBS courses in the Government Medical Colleges of Assam, Session 2023, under Special quota (Freedom Fighters/ Martyr of Assam Movement/ Extremist violence/Ex-Serviceman & Serving Defense Personal/ Sports).
The application form for the above-mentioned special quota will be available on this office website, www.dme.assann.gov.in, and the filled-up form, along with all relevant documents as per the provision of the MBBS/BDS Admission Rule, 2017 (Amendment up to date) must be submitted to the office of the undersigned (2nd floor, Room No. 5) on or before from 14th July 2023, during office hour by hand.
This office will consider no further applications after the last submission date (i.e. 14th July 2023). Applications sent by Post/ E-mail shall not be accepted. Candidates are also requested to collect their receipt of acknowledgment at the time of submission of their forms.
Admission to various medical colleges for MBBS courses is based on the NEET UG entrance exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the entrance exam once a year. The candidates who qualify for the exam are only eligible for the counseling process. It comprises 3 rounds (round 1, round 2, and mop-up round). If seats are not filled in the 1st three rounds, a stray vacancy round is conducted, a college-level round.
The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, Training and Research, Assam was established in 1984 under the control of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. It promotes expertise in medical science in different streams like Allopathic, Ayurvedic, and Homoeopathic medicine and paramedical science, and health care facilities to the people of Assam through different hospitals under the Directorate. It promotes research in the field of medical science in the state of Assam.
