DME Tamil Nadu Extends Date of Resignation Of Round 1Allotted Seats for PG medical admissions, details
Tamil Nadu: The candidates willing to resign from the allotted seat of round 1 can now resign their seats till 19th October 2022. This is for PG Degree, PG Diploma, MDS, and DNB candidates for the academic year 2022-23. The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) has announced this through a written notice.
The previous date of resignation was till 12th October 2022. Seven more days of extension have been given to the candidates. There has been no change in the date of joining. The joining concluded yesterday (12th October 2022) at 5:00 pm.
The candidates who will resign their round 1 seats will be considered part of Round II, and the same rules will apply to them for round 2 counselling. They are advised to ensure that their resignation letter is submitted to their allotted colleges, failing which the resignation will be treated as "Null and Void."
Candidates who are given consent for re-allotment in round 2counseling and participate in round 2 Counseling, but are not re-allotted, will have to retain the seat (i.e., round 1 allotted seat). In such a case, the rules of round 2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in round 2. There is no option for resignation if the candidate is not re-allotted in round 2. Round 1 joined candidates who neither participate in round 2 nor resign from the seat of Round I will be considered part of round 2 after the stipulated time. Hence, the candidates who desire to leave their seat in round 1 should do so before 5 pm on 19th October 2022.
The duration of Post Graduate Degree Courses is 3 years. In contrast, the duration of Post Graduate Degree Courses for the Diploma Candidates who have undergone 2-year courses shall be 2 years in the same Specialty and 3 years in other specialties. The above concession is not applicable for those who have undergone a 1-year Diploma course either in the same or other specialties. For candidates who have undergone a Diploma in Clinical Pathology and Diploma in Diabetology, the duration of the Post Graduate Degree Course is 3 years. The duration of all Diploma Courses is 2 years.
