DME Tamil Nadu Releases Seat Matrix For MBBS, BDS Admission under Management, NRI Quota
Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) released the MBBS / BDS course seat matrix under the NRI category and management quota.
A total of 1956 seats are available for MBBS and BDS admission.

Eligibility –
1. Indian nationals can apply for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission.
2. Non-residents of India (NRI) or Persons of Indian origin (PIO) are eligible for management/NRI quota seats.
3. Candidates 17 years or above are eligible as of 31st December 2022.
4. Students must pass class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks for the general category for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2022 admission. Students from SC/ST/OBC and PH categories need 40% and 45% marks in the class 12 examination.
5. Students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects in class 12.
The Department of Medical Education plays a pivotal role in developing medical and para-medical personnel to cater to the health needs of the State. The department also has a role to play in establishing and maintaining well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centres with State of the art equipment and technology. Research is another area of activity for the Medical Education Department.
DME is responsible for conducting MBBS/BDS counselling for 85% state quota and 100% of private colleges seats. Admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be granted through NEET 2022 counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). There are three rounds of the counselling process, i.e., round 1, round 2, and the mop-up round for MBBS and BDS admission.

The candidates will have to pay the following processing fee –

General instruction -
1. Candidates note that security money and processing fee have to be paid online through fee, via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
2. Candidates should be careful during choice filling. The candidate could edit their choice till choice locking. Once the candidates lock their choice during the online counselling, it cannot be changed later.
3. Request for change of course (MBBS/BDS) or College from one to another is not permitted after an option has been exercised.
4. Candidates, who will not participate in this round of online counselling, will not be considered for subsequent phases of counselling.
5. For government quota, admission to MBBS/BDS Degrees courses shall be made by online counselling based on rank by applying the rule of reservation.
Instructions for downloading allotment order –
1. The selected candidate has to pay the tuition fee, as fixed by the fee committee, for downloading the provisional allotment order online via Debit Card / Credit Card/Net Banking or RTGS.
2. All candidates should ensure sufficient funds are available in their bank account with an expanded credit limit while remitting their Tuition Fee.
3. The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College/Institution on or before the stipulated date and time mentioned in the provisional allotment order.
Reporting to allotted college –
1. The candidates should produce their original certificates in person at the time of joining their selected Colleges along with the scanned copy of the original certificates to the concerned Colleges.
2. If the candidates do not report to the Head of the Institution they are allotted on or before the time and date specified, their selection and / or admission will be cancelled without further notice.
3. The candidates selected for admission should give a self-declaration form when reporting to the concerned college that they are liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts or misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.
The provisional list of candidates for admission to CMC Vellore has also been released. The list has been released for staff quota, MNW category, and all India open category.
