DME Tripura Invites Online Applications For Admission Into M Phil Course In Clinical Psychology At RIMS Imphal

DME Tripura Invites Online Applications For Admission Into M Phil Course In Clinical Psychology At RIMS Imphal

Tripura: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tripura) has invited online applications from the candidates belonging to Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura for admission into M Phil Course in Clinical Psychology Course for the academic session 2023 in the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, Manipur.

Details –

1. Last date of receipt of application form - 21.6 2023 by 4 pm

2. No. of seats - 6

3. Duration of course - 2 years

4. Date of entrance test - 25.6.2023

5. Time & venue of the test - 10 am to 11.30 am at Exam. Hall, RIMS, Imphal

6. Entrance exam fee – Rs 2000 (to be paid online)

The prescribed application form may be downloaded from the institute's website, www.rims.edu.in. The duly filled out form may be submitted to the Academic Section, RIMS, Imphal or by email to dean.rims.imphal@gmail.com or through the online platform on http://www.rims.edu.in/secure/mphil-20231 along with the proof of payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2000 at the time of submission of the form. Candidates may also collect the applications from the Academic Section, RIMS, Imphal, on payment of a fee of Rs.2000.

The bank details related to the fee payment are enclosed in the notice below.

The candidates will have to submit the following documents along with the application form –

1. ST/SC/OBC Certificate

2. Domicile/PR/Indigenous Certificate

3. Pass Certificate BA/BSc Certificate

4. Marks Sheet of BA/BSc

5. Pass Certificate of Class X

6. Pass Certificate MA/MSc Certificate

7. Marks Sheet of Class X

8. Marks Sheet of MA/MSc

9. Pass Certificate of Class XII or Equivalent

10. Passport size photo in JPG

11. Marks Sheet of Class-XII or Equivalent

12. Bank money transaction receipt of Rs.2000

Eligibility Criteria -

1. The candidate must be an Indian National residing in the beneficiary states of RIMS -Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, holding M.A./M.Sc. Psychology Degree from a recognized University.

2. MA/MSc Psychology Degree with 55% for General Candidates and 50% for other categories in aggregate from a recognized University, preferably with a paper in Clinical Psychology.

3. MA/MSc Psychology Degree from Distance Education/ Correspondence I Part-time Course are not eligible.

Admit Card –

1. Admit cards for appearing in the Entrance Examination will be issued to the eligible candidates from June 23, 2023.

2. Admit cards should be collected from the Academic Section, RIMS, Imphal, by 4.30 pm on 24.6.2023. No admit card will be dispatched by post.

3. The candidates are advised to preserve the admit cards till the allotment of seats. A Duplicate Admit card will not be issued after the examination.

Examination -

1. There will be one paper of one and a half hours duration containing 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) covering topics on General, Experimental & Clinically related subjects of Psychology.

2. The questions will be a single-response objective type. Each answer with the correct response shall be awarded one mark. No mark will be given for attempting more than one answer against a question or/and overwriting, use of correction fluid. Un-attempted question(s) is/are to be marked as cross (X) against the question number. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

3. The Examination shall be conducted in English medium only.

4. Examination will be conducted in the Examination Hall of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, on 25.06.2023 at 10.00 am.

5. The candidates should report at the Examination Hall at 9.40 am. Candidates reporting after 15 minutes of the commencement of the examination will not be permitted to appear in the examination.

6. The candidate who does not possess the admit card issued by the Institute shall not be allowed into the examination hall under any circumstances.

7. No candidate can carry a mobile phone, pages, calculator, book, printed or written pieces of paper, smartwatches and devices, or any objectionable materials except the admit card inside the examination hall. Candidates found engaging in copying/ conversation or possessing the above-mentioned restricted items shall be deemed disqualified for the entrance examination.

8. Only a ballpen should be used.

Declaration of Results –

The result of successful candidates, in order of merit, will be declared as soon as possible, most likely on the examination day.

Inter-se-merit of candidates obtaining equal marks -

In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the competitive entrance examination, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as follows -

1. Candidate securing a higher percentage of marks in the MA/MSc Examination

2. Seniority, in case of in-service candidate

3. According to age, older will get preference over younger

Admission -

At admission, the candidates must pay the necessary fees and produce and deposit the following original documents to the Academic Section, RIMS, Imphal.

1. X / HSLC Certificate & Mark Sheet

2. XII or equivalent Certificate & Mark Sheet

3. BA/BSc Certificate & Mark Sheet

4. MA/MSc Certificate & Mark Sheet

The original certificates deposited at the time of admission will be retained in the Dean's Office till the end of the course. Once admitted, a candidate who leaves the M Phil Clinical Psychology course within a year of joining will be liable to pay a sum of Rs.300000, and any candidate who leaves after one year of joining will be liable to pay a sum of Rs. 700000 by way of compensation/ losses incurred by RIMS, Imphal due to such midstream departure. Candidates getting a stipend from RIMS are liable to return the cumulated amount received from the RIMS, Imphal, over and above the penalties mentioned above.

The candidate will submit an undertaking to this effect in the prescribed format at the time of admission.
