Dr MGR Medical University Invites Applications For MSc Epidemiology, PG Diploma In Public Health Journalism, details

Tamil Nadu: Dr MGR Medical University has invited applications for MSc Epidemiology and Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism. The candidates willing to apply can apply till 30th September 2022.

Details to be mentioned in the envelope –

1. MSc Epidemiology - Application for admission to MSc (Epidemiology) course – 2022-23

2. Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism - Application for admission into PG Diploma in Public Health Journalism – 2022-23

Application fee –

The application fee for both the courses is Rs 885 to be paid in the form of DD/Challan(in favour of The Head of Department, Department of Epidemiology, The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai) along with enclosures. The fees have to be paid by 30th September 2022, 5.45 pm.

MSc Epidemiology –

1. Self-attested photocopies of:

2. Mark / Grade sheets of qualifying degree

3. Provisional Pass Certificate

4. Degree certificate of qualifying degree

5. Transfer certificate from the institution last studied

6. Migration certificate (if applicable)

7. Permanent Registration certificate from respective councils (if applicable)

Eligibility –

MSc Epidemiology –

MBBS /BDS / BAMS/ BUMS /BHMS /BSMS /BVSc / MPT / MOT/M Pharmacy / MSc (Nursing)/MSc Biostatistics/ Statistics/MSc Nutrition/ Biochemistry / Physiology / Anatomy / Pharmacology / Microbiology or other equivalent Medical related MSc Degrees.

Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism –

1. Any Undergraduate degree from a recognized University acquired as a full-time student (10+2+3 to 5 years pattern).

2. No upper age limit.

3. Tamil journalists are encouraged to apply. Service candidates can also apply.

Duration of the courses –

1. Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism – 1 year

2. MSc Epidemiology - The duration of the course is 2 years, and the students should complete the course in 4 years time, failing which they will be discharged from the course

Seats –

A total of 12 seats are available for both courses. Detailed seat matrix -

Method of selection –

Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism –

1. Interview & Entrance Examination depending upon the number of applications received.

MSc Epidemiology –

1. Selection will be based on a written entrance examination and an interview to be conducted with all the eligible candidates. The final selection will be made after the interview.

2. The candidate's understanding of and capacity to comprehend quantitative information, past academic performance, past experience and confidential reports from referees will be taken into consideration wherever necessary.

3. Successful candidates will be provisionally selected for admission to the two years MSc (Epidemiology) Degree course.

4. Decision of the University/Selection committee will be final.

MSc Epidemiology –

1. Mark / Grade sheets of qualifying degree

2. Provisional Pass Certificate

3. Degree certificate of qualifying degree

4. Transfer certificate from the institution last studied

5. Migration certificate (if applicable)

6. Permanent Registration certificate from respective councils (if applicable)

7. Eligibility Certificate for admission to M.Sc.(Epidemiology) course obtained from The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University (for candidates from other universities)

8. Service certificate issued by the Head of the Office in respect of the service candidates

9. Certificate for Physical fitness by an authorized Medical Officer (at the time of admission)

Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism –

The list of documents has not been announced yet.

Last date for joining the course –

MSc Epidemiology – Those finally selected and medically cleared for admission will be required to join the M.Sc. Epidemiology course on or before 28th October 2022 before 5.45 pm after paying the tuition fee and other fees for the first year of the course.

Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Journalism – No joining date has been announced yet.
