FNB Admissions: NBE Invites Applications for Fellowship Entrance tests to be held in February 2025

NBE Invites Applications for 2024 Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) for Medical Sciences Admissions.

New Delhi- The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has invited applications for the Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) 2024. The Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various Fellowship (FNB) courses of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.

As per the notice in this regard, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences shall conduct the FET 2024 on 23rd February 2025 on a Computer Based Platform at various test centres across the country. The result will be declared by March 2025. The application form for FET-2024 can be submitted only online on the official website of NBE from 27 December 2024 to 16 January 2025 (up to 11:55 PM).

In this regard, NBE has also released the information bulletin detailing the important details such as examination fees, Eligibility Criteria, scheme, etc.

EXAMINATION FEE

As per the information bulletin, the Indian Students should pay Rs. 3500 and the International Students need to pay Rs. 44250 (Examination Fee of Rs. 37500 + 18% GST). Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. The fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained.

ELIGIBILITY CRITETERIA

A For Indian Students

1 Students who are in possession of a recognised postgraduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DM/MCh/ DNB/DrNB) or an equivalent recognised qualification or likely to be in possession of the same by 31st December 2024 in accordance with eligible feeder qualifications for Fellowship courses can apply for FET 2024.

2 Students found to be ineligible at any stage of FET 2024 will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In an unlikely event of any ineligible student appearing and/or being successful in FET 2024, the result/ candidature of such student shall be cancelled and/or is deemed to be cancelled as and when the ineligibility is detected.

3 The cutoff date for qualifying MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB qualification towards determination of eligibility for appearing in FET 2024 shall be 31st December 2024.

4 Requests for appearing in FET 2024 from students who are qualifying and/or getting the results of their MD/MS/DM/MCh/ DNB/DrNB qualifications after 31st December 2024 shall be summarily rejected.

5 Registration with NMC/State Medical Council is mandatory and its documentary proof should be furnished at the test Centre on the examination day.

6 Eligibility of students issued admit cards for the examination shall be purely provisional and shall be determined at the time of admission/registration to the course. Appearing in FET 2024 does not confer any automatic rights upon the student for admission to FNB courses.

7 There is no upper age limit for training in NBEMS Fellowship courses.

B. For International Students

1 The student should possess a postgraduate medical qualification equivalent to the eligible feeder qualification for the corresponding Fellowship course.

2 The cutoff date for qualifying the eligible feeder post-graduate medical qualification towards determination of eligibility for appearing in FET 2024 shall be 31st December 2024.

3 The qualification of the student should be a registered qualification in his /her own country. The qualification of the student should be a recognised qualification as per provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and included in the Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 which can be seen at the official website of the NMC.

4The student should be a registered medical practitioner in his/her own country.

5 Foreign Nationals desirous of appearing in FET and those, who are required to have security clearance as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) requirements, shall obtain the security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. Such eligible students who would qualify for the entrance examination shall have to produce the clearances so obtained from appropriate authorities (Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Local police) for seeking temporary registration with the National Medical Commission before they are permitted to join any FNB course.

6 The National Medical Commission may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the post-doctoral course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postdoctoral studies. Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his/her own country where from he/she has obtained his/her PG Medical qualification, and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.

7 A visa support letter shall be issued by NBEMS to facilitate appropriate and valid travel visas and travel medical insurance.

8 All international students are required to obtain a “No Objection Certificate” from their Medical council /Government to appear in the examination and permission to work in India for the period of Fellowship based on a valid travel document (passport) and valid permission (visa). The documents shall be required to be produced at the time of counselling.

9 Eligibility of students issued admit cards for the examination shall be purely provisional and shall be determined at the time of admission/registration to the course. Appearing in FET 2024 does not confer any automatic rights upon the student for admission to FNB courses.

10 There is no upper age limit for training in Fellowship courses.
