KEA warns NEET 2026 aspirants against fraudsters promising MBBS seats
Bengaluru: Following fraudulent claims by people promising medical seats outside the official process, Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) Executive Director H Prasanna recently cautioned students and parents not to fall for them.
This directive follows complaints received by the KEA regarding individuals claiming to secure management and NRI quota seats.
Although private medical colleges have the authority to fix fees for management and NRI quota seats, they do not have the right to allot these seats,, Director said as quoted by TNIE.
Prasanna stated that the allotment of all seats, including management and NRI quota seats, would be conducted solely through the KEA. Anyone claiming otherwise is attempting to mislead and defraud candidates.
In Karnataka, 15% of the seats in government medical colleges (GMCs) are allocated at the national level through the National Medical Commission (NMC), while the remaining 85% of seats are allocated through the KEA.
In addition, all seats in private medical colleges and private universities are also allocated through the KEA. Medical seat allocation will be based entirely on the candidates' National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) ranks.
Once the KEA receives the official NEET data, it will release a link allowing candidates to link their NEET roll number with their CET application. After linking the NEET rank, candidates will need to download their verification slip.
Along with this, regarding the pharmacy course, Mr. Prasanna stated that the seat matrix is yet to be received. Once it becomes available, candidates will be allowed to exercise their options prior to the second round of seat allotment.
