Bengaluru paramedical student found dead in room 2 days after alleged suicide

Bengaluru: In an unfortunate incident, a 20-year-old paramedical student of a private medical college allegedly committed suicide in his room. His body was found two days later after family members noticed a foul smell coming from the house.

The parents found his decomposed body hanging from the ceiling on Friday after the student reportedly hanged himself on Wednesday, as per preliminary reports.

The deceased is a resident of Marappanapalya in Bengaluru. He was pursuing a paramedical course at KC General Hospital and was also a part-time employee.

The incident came to light when the neighbours informed the family after a foul smell started emanating from the house. When the room was opened, the student was found hanging. The police said that the body had decomposed, indicating that he had died around two to three days earlier.

His parents stayed on the ground floor of the house, while the student stayed on the first floor. His death has left the family in shock.

The student's father told NDTV that his son used to leave for college at around 7 am every day and would usually return home by 11 pm. He said that he had been away from home for the past four days due to health issues, during which the incident is believed to have occurred.

His parents also said that since the door was locked, they thought he was at his sister's house.

The family said that they are unaware of what could have driven him to take his life.

The student's brother-in-law told TOI, he was addicted to online gaming and suspect this to be the reason for his death, however the family denied it.

The police have registered a case and seized his mobile phone for forensic examination. His body was sent to Nelamangala Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
