3rd year MBBS student dies after consuming poison in Indore hostel
Indore: In an unfortunate incident, a 21-year-old third-year MBBS student of a private medical college in Indore died during treatment after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance inside the college hostel.
The student allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance on the hostel premises on Wednesday afternoon.
The college administration had rushed him to a hospital for treatment, and where he succumbed later that night.
Taking note of the incident, the police registered a case of unnatural death based on a complaint. The reason behind the unfortunate incident is not yet certain, and the police have launched an investigation in this regard.

During the preliminary investigation, police did not find any suicide note in his hostel room. Since the student's condition was critical after he was admitted to the hospital, his statement could not be recorded.
The student's family was informed, and his body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination, as per Dainik Bhaskar report.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.

A first-year MBBS student at Jubilee Mission Medical College passed away after falling from the hostel building in a suspected suicide incident. According to police, the incident came to light when another student saw her fall from the 14th floor of the girls’ hostel building. Hospital authorities, after noticing her lying on the ground with injuries, rushed to the spot and shifted her to the emergency department, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
In another incident, a 26-year-old medico from the Department of Anaesthesia at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) committed suicide after administering an overdose of anaesthesia medication to himself. His body was found inside his room at the university's Sushrut Hostel, located on the sixth floor.
