Maharashtra NEET PG Admissions: 17 percent Increase In Number Of Seats This Academic Year
Maharashtra: As many as 2212 postgraduate seats are available in the state quota across government and private medical colleges this year in Maharashtra.
There has been an increase of 17% more seats as compared to last year. 1416 seats are available for government colleges and 796 for private colleges, according to the data of maha CET Cell.
The Commissioner, State CET Cell, Mumbai has been designated as Competent Authority for selection and admissions at (i) Government/ Corporation / Government Aided Medical colleges and (ii) Unaided Private & /Minority Medical colleges for the year 2022-2023, as per provisions of section 2(e) and section 10(4) of the Act (for Unaided Private & Minority Medical colleges) and Government Resolution No. MED-1015/CR 396/15/Edu-2, dated 16/12/2015 (for Government / Corporation Medical Colleges).
These admissions will be done on the available postgraduate seats at disposal of Competent Authority in State Quota Seats of Government/Corporation/ Government Aided / State Quota seat for Central Government/Unaided Private & Minority Medical Colleges from the State of Maharashtra. The Competent Authority will supervise and control the selection process by implementing these procedures.
Eligibility Criteria –
1. Candidate must be an Indian National.
2. Non-Resident Indians (NRI) are not eligible for any other seat except NRI quota seats in Unaided Private and Private Minority Medical Colleges, subject to fulfilment of NRI status and other relevant eligibility criteria.
3. All candidates, who have passed the final MBBS degree course examination from the college situated in Maharashtra State and completed one year of internship training by 31st July 2022 from a recognized medical college.
4. The candidates who are domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% All India quota / AIIMS / Central Government Institutions for MBBS course in the medical college/institution situated outside Maharashtra State and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for the selection process of NEET-PG 2022.
5. The Candidate must be medically fit.
6. All Candidates desirous to take admission for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses under state quota or Institutional quota must have appeared for NEET-PG 2022 and declared eligible by the Competent Authority of NEET-PG 2022, Government of India, New Delhi.
