MBBS, BDS Admissions in Tamil Nadu: Round 1 NEET Counselling to begin tomorrow, check out details
Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME) has released the tentative round-I counselling schedule for admission to MBBS/BDS degree courses in Tamil Nadu.
The counselling will be done for admissions to Government Medical/ Dental Colleges, ESIC Medical College, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, Government & Management Quota (incl. NRI) seats in Self Financing Medical/ Dental Colleges, State Private Universities, Christian Medical College, Vellore and Wards of IRT Candidates for 2023-24 session.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS -
Candidates participating in the online choice filling for MBBS/BDS Degree Courses will have to remit a non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs.500/- for Government Quota and Rs.1000/- for Management Quota.
At the time of registration, the candidate will have to pay Refundable Security Deposit for Government Quota -
For Government Medical Colleges – Nil
For Government Dental Colleges – Nil For Government Quota seats in
Govt. Quota seats in Self-Financing
Medical / Dental College & State Private University – Rs.30, 000/-
SC/SCA/ST candidates are Exempted from Security deposit if their annual Income is less than 2.5 Lakhs
Converts to Christianity from Scheduled Caste candidates are Exempted from Security deposit if annual Income is less than 2.0 Lakhs.”
At the time of registration, the candidate will have to pay Refundable Security Deposit for Management Quota -
Management Quota including Minority / NRI Category seats in Self- Financing Medical / Dental College & State Private Universities Rs.1,00 000/-
All candidates should read the Prospectus thoroughly before starting choice filling. Candidates should be careful while choice filling.
Choice Filling - Candidates will have the option of choice filling for all the seats for which they have applied to. For example, if a candidate has applied for both Government and management quotas, he will have choices for both Government as well as Management quotas. The candidates are encouraged to analyze all the choices available and fill in their choices in order of their preference.
Candidates can edit their choices any number of times before locking, But once locked, they will not be allowed to edit. Hence candidates are requested to check their choices and the order of preference before locking. If the candidate does not lock his/her choices till the last date (31/07/2023 5 PM), their choices will be automatically locked.
Seat Matrix for the Course will be available on the official websites. The selection committee does not take responsibility for Connectivity errors and Procedural errors. Admission to MBBS/BDS Degrees courses shall be made by the ONLINE COUNSELLING on the basis of rank by applying the rule of reservation.
Category Opt-out -
As the Round 2 counseling is a Re-allotment round, candidates will not be allowed for categories that they have opted out of, as mentioned in the prospectus Clause 17 II (d). For Example, if a candidate has not opted for any of the Self-Financing MBBS (Category B) in Round 1, he will not be allowed for that category in Round 2.

Request for change of course (MBBS/BDS) or College from one to another is not permitted after a final locking.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING ALLOTMENT ORDER -
The Selected candidate (for MBBS seats in all colleges under all categories and BDS seats in Government Dental Colleges) has to pay the Tuition Fee for downloading the Provisional allotment order online via Debit Card / Credit Card/Net Banking or RTGS.
The Selected candidate (BDS seats in Self Financing Dental Colleges) has to pay the Tuition Fee at the time of admission to the colleges directly as per G.O(D) No.868 Health and Family Welfare (MCA-1) Department dated.18.07.2023 as detailed in the Notification No.010/SCS1(1)/2023 dated 19.07.2023.

All candidates should make sure sufficient fund is available in their bank account with an expanded credit limit while remitting their Tuition Fee.
The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College/Institution on or before the stipulated date and time mentioned in the Provisional Allotment Order.
REPORTING TO ALLOTTED COLLEGE -
The Certificate Verification will be done in the selected colleges.
The candidates should produce their ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES in person at the time of joining in their selected Colleges, along with the scanned copy of the original certificates for verification.
If you do not report to the Head of the Institution to which you are allotted on or before the time and date specified, your selection and/or admission will be canceled without any further notice.
Further, DME has announced that as per G.O(D)No.868 Health and Family Welfare(MCA-1) Department dated.18.07.2023, the respective Dental Colleges / Institutions have been allowed to collect the tuition fees for admission into BDS Course from the academic year 2023-2024.
Consequent to this, the instruction in the prospectus for Government Quota in G.O(D)No.700 Health and Family Welfare(MCA-1) Department Clause 22 and Management Quota in G.O(D)No.701 Health and Family Welfare (MCA-1) Department Clause 19 has been modified to allow for the collection of tuition fees for BDS Course at the time of reporting by the respective Dental Colleges Candidates who are allotted for BDS Courses may download their allotment orders without paying tuition fee to the Selection Committee. The Dean / Principal of the Dental Colleges is instructed to collect the tuition fees per the norms fee fixed by the Committee on Fixation of Fees for the Self Financing Dental Colleges.
