MCC issues instructions for PwBD NEET counselling candidates 2026, mandates eligibility certificate, check details

The notice also incorporates the National Medical Commission’s newly notified “Guidelines on Assessment of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities for Admission to the MBBS Course, 2026” and lists 62 designated medical assessment centres across the country.

As per the notice issued by the MCC in this regard, candidates wishing to claim a PwBD seat must visit one of the designated Medical Assessment Boards of MCC and obtain an Eligibility Certificate before participating in the counselling process.

Candidates must submit the following documents before the Medical Assessment Board-

1 NEET UG 2026 scorecard establishing eligibility for admission to the MBBS course.

2 Permanent Unique Disability Identity (UDID) card issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

3 A self-certified affidavit declaring the candidate’s functional abilities in the format prescribed under Schedule I.

4 Self-certified affidavit declaring his or her functional abilities in the format specified in Schedule-I which shall be verified by Medical Assessment Board during the course of assessment.

5 Self-Certification Affidavit and Affidavit specific to the candidate’s disability category, in the prescribed format of NMC

MCC has clarified that only candidates who obtain an Eligibility Certificate from one of its designated assessment centres will be shown PwBD seats during choice filling.

The certificate will be generated by the centre as per details of disability mentioned on the UDID card and affidavit submitted by the PwBD candidate and subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

Candidates seeking PwBD reservation under the 85% State Quota may approach the relevant state medical assessment boards. However, the assessment must be conducted in accordance with the NMC’s 2026 guidelines.

The committee has warned that if a candidate submits a fake UDID card or affidavit, the allotted seat will be cancelled and legal action may be initiated.
