MCC NEET Counselling 2026 round 1 choice filling extended

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the choice-filling deadline for Round 1 of the NEET UG Counselling 2026 till 11:59 PM today, i.e. August 18, 2026, giving candidates additional time to submit and revise their preferences for undergraduate medical counselling.
According to the notice issued by the MCC in this regard, the committee also announced that the choice-locking facility began at 5:30 PM on August 17, 2026.
The extension offers candidates more time to carefully review their preferred colleges and courses before finalising their choices for Round 1.
Candidates participating in Round 1 can continue to fill, modify and arrange their choices until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026.
The updated timeline is particularly important for aspirants who are still assessing the available seat matrix or reconsidering the order of their college preferences.
As per the notice, the choice-locking process will start from 5:30 PM on August 17, 2026.
Candidates should carefully review their submitted preferences before locking them, as the locked choices will be taken into account during the Round 1 seat allotment process.
