MCC seeks documents from candidates for NRI nationality conversion in NEET PG 2025 stray vacancy round

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), has issued an official notice inviting applications from candidates seeking conversion of nationality from Indian to NRI for the Stray Vacancy Round of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) Counselling for the academic year 2025-26.
As per the notice, candidates claiming NRI status in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India are required to submit relevant documents in support of their claim.
Therefore, eligible candidates must email their complete set of documents from today, i.e. 4:00 PM on February 14, 2026, to 4:00 PM on February 16, 2026. However, the emails received before or after the stipulated timeframe will not be considered. Candidates are advised to send all required documents in a single email only and regularly check the official MCC website for further updates.
The notice specifies the following mandatory documents-
1 NEET-PG Admit Card and Score Card.
2 Proof of NRI status of the parent/relative, including-
i Valid Passport.
ii NRI Certificate issued by the competent authority (Embassy/Indian Consulate).
iii Visa/Residence Permit/OCI/PIO card (if applicable).
3 Certificate of relationship between the NRI relative and the candidate issued by the competent Revenue Authority through a Family Tree.
4 Notarised affidavit by the NRI relative stating that they will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses of the candidate, supported by an NRE (Non-Resident External) bank account passbook or birth certificate.
Candidates must furnish the documents strictly in the format.
Once converted to the NRI category in any round of counselling, they will remain under the NRI category for all subsequent rounds. They will not be eligible to avail benefits under the Muslim Minority, Jain Minority, or any other quota after conversion. All information provided is true; failing which their candidature may be cancelled at any stage of counselling.
