MCC to conduct NEET MDS Counselling of Priority- III, IV, V candidates into AFMS PG Teaching Institutes from this year, all details here
New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed through a notice that from this year, counselling for Priority III, IV and V candidates in Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) PG teaching institutes will be conducted by the MCC of DGHS. In addition, FAQs for candidates desirous of participating in AFMS MDS counselling 2024 have also been released.
AFMS conducts postgraduate training in AFMS PG Teaching Institutes primarily for the in-service medical and dental officers of the AFMS to fulfil the specialist requirements. Surplus seats, if any, are offered to other eligible candidates as per priority system sanctioned by the Govt of India. The civilian doctors who get admission in postgraduate courses (MD/MS/DNB/MDS) at any AFMS institution shall be liable to serve as Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSC) for 05 years in AFMS.
As sanctioned by the Govt of India, after fulfilling the AFMS requirements, the remaining seats in the AFMS PG Teaching Institutes, if any, are made available to other eligible candidates as per the priority system outlined below-
1 Priority-I: AFMS Officers detailed on Advance Specialist Course/ PG courses.
2 Priority-II: Foreign students sponsored by Government and AFMS officers granted Study Leave.
3 Priority-III: Medical Officers sponsored by Para Military Organization/ other Govt. of India organization.
4 Priority-IV: Ex-SSC AFMS Officers within 03 years of their release from service.
5 Priority-V: Civilian candidates.
As per the notice, the counselling for Priority-I & II candidates will be conducted by O/o DGAFMS and counselling of Priority-III, IV & V candidates will be conducted by MCC. Candidates of all priorities are advised to register themselves on the MCC portal for counselling as per the schedule. More information in this regard will be available on the MCC official website and the AFMS website. Seat allotment during counselling by MCC is provisional and subject to fulfilment of all eligibility criteria as mentioned in the ‘Information Bulletin for PG Courses in AFMS Institutions through NEET PG-2024 and NEET MDS-2024’. AFMS reserves the right to deny admission to any candidate who is found to be ineligible as per the eligibility criteria enumerated in the Information Bulletin mentioned. The redressal of disputes, if any, shall only be through civil courts having jurisdiction of New Delhi alone.
The last date for the sponsorship certificate of Priority-III candidates & applications of Priority-IV candidates for MDS seats in AFMS Institutions to reach the O/o DGAFMS is 05 July 2024.

Q1 Who can register on MCC for counselling for admission into AFMS PG Teaching Institutes?
A Admission into the Post Graduate courses (MD/MS/DNB/MDS) at AFMS institutions, subject to the priorities laid down in the ‘Information Bulletin for PG Courses in AFMS Institutions through NEET PG2024 and NEET MDS-2024’, is open to the graduates of medical/ dental colleges recognized by NMC/ DCI/ NDC and who have registered themselves as Registered medical/ dental practitioners with any State Medical/ Dental Council recognized by NMC/ DCI/ NDC. All candidates, except Priority-II, must be citizens of India.
Q2 What are the minimum qualifying criteria for interning students?
A Students who have completed/ are completing an internship on or before 30 Jun 2024 for MDS Courses as notified by NBE are eligible to apply/ register. However, the Provisional Registration Certificate / Permanent Registration Certificate should be available at the time of admission.
Q3 Do candidates of all priorities have to register with MCC?
A Yes, candidates of all priorities have to register on the MCC website for AFMS Institutions as per priority. Further, candidates under Priority-III, IV & V would also have to select and lock the preferred institute and seat as per instructions and schedule stipulated by the MCC.
Q4 What are the minimum qualifying criteria with respect to the NEET MDS exam and the score for all candidates?
A Appearance in the NEET MDS 2024 and securing the minimum marks as indicated by NBE.
Q5 What is the eligibility of a candidate who has ‘cancelled’/ ‘failed to report for admission within the stipulated time’/ ‘vacated a seat mid-course in the past’, which has resulted in lapse/ wastage of a seat in the past?
A A candidate shall not be eligible to take admission in AFMS Institutions if he/ she has ‘cancelled’/ ‘failed to report for admission within the stipulated time’/ ‘vacated a seat mid-course in the past’, which has resulted in lapse/ wastage of a seat.
Q6 What are the liabilities of a candidate vacating a seat mid-course in the past, which has resulted in lapse/ wastage of the said seat?
A The liabilities of vacating an allotted seat in respect of any candidate admitted under any priority on conclusion of the counselling will be as per the policy and directions of the NBE/ NMC/ DCI/ NDC/ MoHFW/ MCC/ DGAFMS/ affiliated University. Such a candidate will be liable to pay the University charges to which the college is affiliated and bond money as laid down in the Surety Bond executed at the time of admission as applicable.
Q7 What are the list of certificates to be submitted in original by the selected candidates at the AFMS PG Teaching Institute on the day of admission along with the same as a scanned (‘.pdf’ format) softcopy on a CD?

ii Six Passport size photographs.
ii NEET MDS 2024 Admit card and printed copy of the DGHS website registration slip.
iii NEET MDS 2024 rank card allotted by NBE.
iv Class X/ SSLC/ ICSE certificate as a valid certificate of proof of age.
v Nationality Certificate/ Xerox copy of valid passport/ Domicile Certificate (where applicable)/ Birth Certificate endorsed with INDIAN nationality on it.
vi First to Final year BDS Mark Sheets of the respective university. Priority – V candidates should have secured a min of 55% marks in the final BDS.
vii MBBS/ BDS Pass Certificate/Degree Certificate.
viii Internship Completion Certificate.
ix Permanent/ Provisional State Medical/ Dental Council registration certificate.
x Attempt Certificate.
xi Transfer Certificate/ Migration certificate.
xii Educational Gap affidavit, if any.
xiii Provisional allotment letter issued by the MCC.
xiv Priority - III candidates only: Permission to proceed on Study Leave from the employing/sponsoring organization is mandatory for Priority III candidates.
xv Priority - IV candidates – Release order from Armed Forces Medical Services and movement order from last unit for proceeding on release or NOC in case of SSC Officers in their last year of initial contractual service/ extended contractual service.
xvi Declaration by the candidate.
